About this property

NEW Cozy home located within minutes to Sugarloaf

  • Summary

Brand-new, architect-designed cabin tucked at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just 10 minutes from Sugarloaf. With 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a cozy fireplace, and a winter shuttle stop on the route, it’s an easy, private home base for ski days and slow mornings in the woods.

    The space

This home was built new and designed to feel like a modern take on a classic mountain cabin. The sharp dark exterior and standing-seam metal roof sit on a wooded lot, and the warm-lit covered porch is the perfect spot for morning coffee or an après-ski drink in the Adirondack chairs.

Inside, the open living and dining area sits under a soaring vaulted pine ceiling. Polished concrete floors, natural wood accents, and plenty of windows keep it bright and clean-lined while still feeling warm. Sink into the leather sectional in front of the fireplace, curl up in the built-in window nook with a book, or rock by the windows in the woven lounge chairs. The solid wood dining table seats six, so there’s room for everyone to gather for a big dinner after a day on the mountain.

The home has three bedrooms and two full baths, giving families and groups room to spread out and get a good night’s sleep before first chair.

    Location

You’re about 10 minutes from Sugarloaf, and in the winter months the home is on the shuttle route, so you can skip the parking lot and the drive back after a long ski day. Because the home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac surrounded by trees, it’s quiet and private, with no through traffic and a real sense of being tucked away in the Maine woods.

    Why guests will love it

Everything is brand new, the design is thoughtful and uncluttered, and the location strikes the balance between quick mountain access and a peaceful retreat to come home to.

A few details would make this stronger if you can share them: the bed layout in each bedroom (and therefore how many it sleeps), whether the fireplace is gas or wood, and any standout amenities like a hot tub, mudroom or ski storage, EV charger, or washer/dryer.

    Exterior

The home sits on a private wooded lot at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, surrounded by birch, maple, and evergreens. The exterior pairs charcoal vertical and horizontal siding with a standing-seam metal roof and warm wood soffits, giving it a crisp, modern farmhouse look that still feels at home in the Maine woods.

From the paved driveway, granite steps and a stone-lined gravel path lead you up to a covered front porch finished in natural cedar. With its glowing wood ceiling and a pair of Adirondack chairs, it’s an easy spot to sit with a morning coffee or watch the snow come down.

Out back, a sliding glass door opens from the dining area straight onto a gravel patio built for gathering. Four Adirondack chairs circle a stainless steel fire pit, with firewood stacked nearby, so you can end the day around the fire under the stars. A flat-top griddle sits right outside the door, perfect for pancake breakfasts or burgers after a day on the mountain. Beyond the patio, open meadow grass and tall trees give the yard a natural, tucked-away feel with no neighbors in view.

    Getting there

Apres Way is located off of Hazlewood Rd, which is directly off of Rt. 27 as you make your way into Carrabassett Valley. As you drive up Hazlewood, Apres Way is your first left. Continue up Apres Way, and our home is the last house on the left at the very end of the cul-de-sac.

    Accessibility

Please note that this home is not well suited for guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility. The home is reached from the driveway by a set of granite steps and a gravel path, and there is a step up onto the front porch. The back patio and surrounding paths are gravel, and the lot has natural, uneven terrain. In winter, walkways and steps may have snow or ice even with regular maintenance.

The home does not have accessibility features such as ramps, grab bars, step-free showers, or widened doorways. If you or someone in your group has specific accessibility needs, please reach out before booking and we’ll gladly answer any questions so you can decide whether the home is a good fit.
