Close to home get away
This is a lovely place. We live in St. Cloud on 22 acres. In the past 20 years there has been increased development around us. Nice to see, but adds traffic. I’m leaving in a week for a 7 day backpacking hike in the Grand Canyon. This was a perfect property. Miles of hills on gravel roads. And the lake and cabin are so relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend it.

Memorial weekend lake stay
We started out with a very informative, pleasant email from the owner of the rental. Driving onto the property, we got an immediate feeling of being out in the woods. The house is cozy, well-kept, and very cute. Because it's on a large piece of property, the sandy beach area is very far away from others on the lake, so you get a very private feel. My dogs had a great time exploring the walking trails off-leash, which they usually don't get to do because of people being around. Checking out was not overcomplicated like some rentals can be. We would definitely rent here again.

We had a wonderful time here. The location is perfect, just secluded enough, not too far away from Target for the things you forget to pack. Beautiful lake, and a huge deck. The place was clean and the bed comfy.

Perfect Winter Setting close to ski/tubing hill
Beautiful private wooded setting on a lake with the ski/tubing hill across the pond. House well maintained with great heating system & the fireplace a plus on a cold winter night. Plenty of room for a family with two separate bedrooms and an additional loft futon. Added perk of laundry on site. Wildlife (herds of deer) added to the quaintness of the property.

This was a wonderful property that was 100% private and had all the amenities of home! The beach was just a few steps away and had the toys we could have wanted and more! Beautiful beach!
Beautiful location and beach! Only downside was the very steep hill to get to the beach! We brought a golf cart so we drove down there. The shower head on main level was very short. My husband had to crouch to use it. But otherwise was very nice!

Had a perfect family vacation here! Sandy beach, a full swing set and even basket of toys made this a dream for vacationing with kids (ages 2 and 5). Had wonderful bonfires down at the beach at night. Can’t wait to come back!

Look no further. Definitely book this Cabin. My family and I absolutely loved the property. Such Wonderful Hosts. This truly is a home away from home with Decor and detail that give the lake cabin feel. Peaceful wooded retreat
My husband, daughter and I really enjoyed staying here for a long weekend this winter. The drive thru the woods to the property is magical! The house itself is well maintained and charming with a great view from every window. It's perched on a hill overlooking the lake, surrounded by woods and just one neighbor within walking distance. We had some trouble with the door when we arrived and the owner was very responsive. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can come back!

Quiet retreat
This cozy cabin with lake views was the perfect getaway for our family. We spent a week exploring the 10 acre wooded property encountering wild turkeys, deer, and all kinds of birds. A bonfire on the beach as the sun set over the lake made for fantastic memories. The cabin is very comfortable and clean. It has a good functional kitchen that we used to make meals every day. We would definitely return.

Amazing lake-side getaway
We all had *such* a lovely time at the cabin. The house is small but cozy, with everything we could possibly have needed (including some awesome toys). And the property is just incredible. Perfect lake, great beach, lots of woodlands to explore. Kayaks were awesome, especially the kid kayak that our 6 year old instantly got a handle on. Will definitely be coming back.

Nice Cabin!
Nice cabin on 10 acres. Very secluded. Lake is very quiet. Private beach with lots of toys (sand toys for kids, kayaks, canoe, beach chairs, tubes). Water is super clear with few weeds at this beach. Saw bald eagles every day. Fire pit for making s'mores at night. Beds were comfortable, but my mom and sister preferred their own blow up mattress to the futon. Everything you need for cooking including gas grill. All in all great place. Would stay there again!

Wonderful Getaway
We had such a wonderful time at the cabin. This was our 2nd stay within six months and a great place to unwind and relax. The cabin was private, peaceful and quiet. We took long walks exploring the surrounding woods and being on the beach enjoying the lake and beautiful sunsets. Evenings were spent on the great wraparound deck with a view of the lake and down by the campfire. The cabin had all the amenities we needed. It had comfy furniture, two very nice bedrooms and bathrooms with plenty of linen. The Wi-Fi and tv worked great. The kitchen was well stocked with nice cookware and utensils to make our meals with and the appliances worked great. This is a special place and we look forward to returning soon and making more great memories.

Spring Break in MN
The house was cute and cozy. It was slightly dusty and needs a little TLC, but everything we needed was working and we enjoyed our stay. It was spring in MN so it ranged from below freezing to 70 degrees, calm to 40 mph winds, and we enjoyed seeing the ice completely disappear from the lake during our stay. We made s’mores and looked for interesting rocks on the beach. Walking the driveway loop was pleasant and great for our dog. The complimentary Keurig coffee and nice (new?) pans were a nice touch. Thank you!

Winter Stay
Our stay was good. We really liked that the cabin was in secluded area surrounded by nature. Cute little place for a small group. For a family that cooks their own food we were a bit disappointed with the status of the kitchen cookware but otherwise was a good stay. We did enjoy the lake as well.

A lovely stay in a perfect location -- incredible beach!!!
This retreat was exactly what we needed! The location was so beautiful -- surrounded by trees, a perfect beach for kids and adults alike, and a comfortable, well-stocked cabin. First, the grounds: I've said it lots already, but the beach area is so perfect -- lots of sand for the kids to play in, a clear and warm lake to swim in, and TONS of beach toys, floats, kayaks, etc. provided to enjoy it all. I couldn't believe all of the treasures that my husband kept pulling out of the shed for us to use over the course of the weekend. My toddler started calling it the magic shed. We spent our afternoons building sandcastles, swimming with the sunnies, paddling around on the kayaks and canoes, and come evening time, enjoyed the most gorgeous sunsets complete with a pair of loons. We also had a great time exploring the 11 acres in search of wildlife. It feels so peaceful to wander along the path and enjoy the smells and sounds of nature. The cabin was well-stocked with all of the things we needed for our stay. Linens and towels were clean and comfy. I really appreciated the soft pillows on every bed, and the kitchen had all of the pots/pans/plates/utensils/appliances we needed to cook some tasty meals. We brought all of our own food, but the pantry did have some essential in case you forget things at home. And, the nearby Dollar General (about 7 minutes away) had a couple of the last minute items we needed to get -- we somehow forgot to bring the ingredients for s'mores! The house is older so there was a slightly musty smell when we first arrived but that's to be expected with a cabin in the woods. Furniture is well-loved, but certainly comfortable and sturdy. And there are plenty of comfy sitting spots both indoors and outdoors to enjoy. You may want to bring your own water to drink. While the tap water is safe to drink, it definitely has a brownish tint and metallic taste -- again, to be expected with a cabin in the woods that uses well water. While I'm usually not too picky with my water, I did end up preferring to drink from the gallons of bottled water we bought at the local store for the kids. Just something to consider if you (or someone in your group) is a bit squeamish about drinking hard water. We would absolutely come back! It was a perfect getaway for my family: myself and my husbands (both in our 30s), my mother (70s), two toddlers (1 and 3), and our dog.

Perfect beach for toddler, dog, entire family
A delightful family friendly gem. We loved pretty much everything about our stay. Everything accurately described. We loved watching the dog "fish for sunnies" for endless hours in the clear sandy shallows along the beach. The stairs down to the beach is a bit steep so requires being careful, but we managed it even after dark fairly well. We kept our almost 2 year old downstairs on the main floor by blocking off the stairs at the bottom. The railing around the open view loft area is sturdy but most likely is a bit wider apart than most railings built today so we opted for caution there. The 10 acres of woods were awesome; far enough off the road and away from neighbors to be able to really enjoy play time, walks and privacy for deck meals and beach sunsets and campfires. Having the little beach house nicely equipped with beach chairs, beach and water toys including sun umbrellas was super appreciated. We enjoyed boating, water skiing and fishing. The lake is small and really weedy in a lot of areas (but not at the property's beach area ) although really pretty and private. We brought our boat and took it to another lake for fishing one day. The sandy beach and bottom worked fine for us and our little speed boat to be pulled up on shore for the day in between use.

This was perfect for us for a long girls' weekend. Enough room for us and our 2 dogs, a great beach, not too far from the Twin Cities, and enough of a "cabin" feel while still having all the everyday comforts (wifi, cable, Keurig, AC). We brought our own floaties, but ended up not even inflating them with everything that was already provided for us. We did book it at a lower price than is listed now, so I would take into account that it's probably not as decked out as some properties at this price point. You're really paying for the beachfront, the privacy, and all the room for your kids or dogs to run around safely.

We stayed at this cabin over Labor Day weekend and found it to be exactly as listed! It's dated but spotlessly clean and everything is in working order. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to spend any time in the water but the lakefront is really nice and it would be a great place to hang out if we had better weather. We had 4 adults and two dogs, I wouldn't have wanted to add many more people, as it is not a huge place. The outdoor space is great, the deck is giant and there is always a portion that is in the sun. The grill is great, nice and new. No complaints would rent again.

Fantastic Beach, Mediocre Cabin
The beach was great, lots of sand and a clear, clean lake to swim in. A bonfire on the beach in the evening makes for a great view of the sunset. The stairs going down the very steep hill to the beach are loose, we had someone step on a loose cement block and take a tumble. There was no warning of this. The cabin had lots of bugs inside after sunset hours, and even a bat was flying around in the living room during the afternoon.... The online posting explained that the cabin had wireless internet, TV, and a DVD player - which was all false! The internet didn't work, the TV only got 1 channel, and the DVD player was broken. Very disappointing for us as we wanted to relax and watch a movie. The cabin is old and rundown, nothing fancy. You're booking this cabin for the beach and firepit on the shore, not for the cabin itself. I hope they can get the electronics working for the next group!

Danielle, we're sorry to hear your stay fell short of your expectations. The has owner resolved the Wifi issue, as it only required a quick restart of the router. This also fixed the cable issue as they are connected. The owners can personally confirm that the DVD player is in proper working condition as well. However, we're sorry if you experienced any operational difficulties. They also suggest keeping doors closed to keep out any pests. The homeowner wishes you would have reached out while you were in residence with any concerns, so they could have resolved them promptly for a most comfortable stay. Nice Getaway- Could use maintenance
We stayed with our children at the cabin. We were looking for a place that we could pull up to and not leave until check out. For the most part, this provided that. Our first night we planned an easy dinner on the grill, except when we went to use it the tank was empty. We never did fill it since we knew it wouldn't be worth the amount of money we'd put into it- plus another trip to find somewhere to fill it. The home was nice. It had everything we needed, including lots of silverware which was nice. Some of the utensils could use some upgrading. If we went back, I'd bring my own can opener and peeler. The oven set the smoke detector off every time we cooked, even though there was no smoke. The bathrooms and bedrooms were nice and clean. The beds were pretty hard though. The kitchen floor was pretty dirty and had chunks of food left from someone before us. Other than that, it was clean. It seemed like the kitchen got cleaned well but they forgot the floor. I vacuumed dead ladybugs and dust from the window sills so my 1 year old could sit and look out the big windows- she loved it. The windows were nice to have. The patio door didn't open well and the door handle was broke so we didn't use it. A functioning door would be nice since it's what faces the lake. But the other side door worked just fine for us. The toilet seat was also broke on the main floor when we arrived but it still functioned just fine. The lake was nice. The sandy beach area was great for our kids to play and they spent all their time there. However, the trees were overgrown walking down to the lake. We had brought some bigger inflatables and were worried they'd pop hauling them down there from the trees. The stone blocks that lead down to the lake were also really wobbly. Our kids fell a few times and I almost dropped our 1 year old the first time I went down not realizing they were loose and wobbly. Overall, we'd stay here again with some maintenance. The deck had potential but the trees kind of felt like they took over the deck so we didn't use it. If the home were priced a little lower, I would have given it 5 stars. I'm comparing it to other homes I've rented for a similar price. With the maintenance, I'd pay $230/night at 5 stars. The owner checked in a few times and made sure we had everything we needed to get in. He seemed extremely friendly. You can tell that he takes great pride in his lake home. Thanks for allowing us to use your lake home for our family vacation!

Girls 20 yr reunion
The lake and house were nice. The sunset and wildlife were fun to hear. The house needs a new screen door, needs cleaning and maintenance. Strongly suggest trimming trees on driveways and path to the lake. Vehicles were getting scratched and there was a huge branch across the road and had to drive around. In general it was relaxing once you got over the spiders and ants.

Peace and quiet at the lake!
We really enjoyed our stay! The beach and lake were beautiful and clean with plenty of space to spread out and relax. We fished off the beach and off the canoe, taking our kids (6 and 3) on several canoe rides, too. The cabin was well maintained and clean, stocked with all the basics. We also really enjoyed roaming the property with our kids and dog. We saw plenty of wildlife (deer, beavers, frogs, toads, eagles, hummingbirds) along the way. Spent a lot of time on the deck eating meals and relaxing. Really enjoyed the privacy and quiet. Based on some of the other reviews here, we knew that window covers in the bedrooms could be an issue. I would definitely recommend that renters be prepared to rig up some sort of window covers due to the east-facing windows. Otherwise the place is perfect for families!

Great weekend getaway
We had such a great time at the cabin. There was plenty of room for my husband and I, our two year old and our two dogs. The cabin was fully furnished with just about everything we needed - just had to bring our clothes, toiletries and food. The bedrooms had plenty of room, the only thing we would have hoped for would be curtains on the windows. It was hard to sleep in with the sun coming in the windows so early. The lake is gorgeous - clear water and it felt very private. The dogs had a great time hunting for fish and my two year old loved the little sandy area. Overall, it was a nice relaxing weekend - we will be back next summer! :)

Nothing fancy, but an amazing getaway
My family (two adults and two kids and one infant) had a lovely time. Everything we needed was available. The lake was crystal clear and the private sandy beach was amazing! We spent all day everyday of our stay on the beach. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I was looking for. I am certain we will come back again sometime!! The only thing I would change would be that there were not any curtains or shades on the bedroom windows. So the kids woke up about 5:30 each morning and had a hard time going to sleep before 10pm. Also, the two bedrooms in the main part of the house each have one king/queen bed. The room with the two full size beds was on the lower level in the basement. While it is a clean basement with a walkout sliding glass door, it is not finished and I personally would not want to sleep down there. There are not pictures of this area online. It was not a problem for us but might be for others looking to sleep more than 4 people.

This cabin ranks at the top of my list for a family gathering. The setting is beautiful: secluded and tranquil. The crystal-clear lake lies just below the cabin; we particularly enjoyed the canoe and inflatables, as well as the opportunity to watch the sunset by campfire. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with towels, blankets, kitchen dishes and utensils, books, and games. An added bonus is the proximity to the town of Kimball, which has a good grocery store. We definitely plan to return!

Wonderful Beach!!!
We had a wonderful time with the family at this very private cabin! Beach was sandy and water very clean. Boys fished and caught a lot of little fish and a large bass from shore. The rental included the use of a brand new canoe and two fun bugs which were awesome! We look forward to visiting again next year! Cabin owner was super accommodating and answered all our questions very quickly! Thank you for a wonderful time, many memories were made!

Great cabin for a family getaway!
We had a fantastic long weekend at the cabin. It was just what we were looking for. We had 4 adults, 3 kids, and a dog and the cabin felt very comfortable with enough space for everyone to relax and sleep. The cabin and main deck have a lot of seating options available so we could enjoy all of our meals together. We spent a lot of the time at the lake and it could not have been more perfect. The sandy beach, clear water, and shallow shoreline were just right for us to feel at ease with our 3 young kids in the water. There's a nice deck along the shoreline to sit and relax up out of the sand and a firepit for later in the evening. David and Amber thought of everything when preparing the cabin and making us feel welcome. We would highly recommend! We will absolutely be back. Thanks again for a memorable family getaway!

Comfortable cabin on beautiful wooded, lake-front property.
The cabin was well appointed and comfortable. It felt as though I was just borrowing a friend's place for a few days. David was great - very accommodating, welcoming to both my dog and me, and quick to respond to emails. The property was gorgeous. My dog and I enjoyed walks in the woods and eating meals on the wrap-around deck. The lake was perfect. Warm, clear, clean. Lots of little fish. The beach was sandy and gently graded. It would be ideal for kids. It was lovely watching the sunset over the lake while toasting marshmallows. I would definitely stay again.
