What a delight. A beautiful property, staff was excellent. Really enjoyed the live music at sunset in the garden and the two meals we had here were really great. A true oasis in amongst the chaos of road tripping in India! Wish we had stayed an extra night

I booked Chottaram`s home-stay with the anticipation of getting to experience the rural taste of Rajasthan and I was not wrong with my selection. Now settled overseas, but originally form eastern India am aware of the culture and traditional life of rural India and I am very happy that I selected this home-stay. They provide every facility that an urban dweller requires. Although there is no newspaper (hardcopy) but who needs when you have access to wifi. May be the food is not served on...

The best area to stay in Khandi is around the City Palace complex and the main bazaar, as this central location offers convenient access to the city's primary attractions and a taste of local life.
This area is the historical heart of Khandi, characterised by its narrow, winding lanes, colourful Havelis, and the imposing City Palace. The main bazaar, known as Sadar Bazaar, runs just outside the palace walls and is a bustling hub for textiles, handicrafts, and spices. You'll find many guesthouses and boutique hotels tucked away in converted heritage buildings here.
Couples looking for a romantic and culturally rich experience will find this area particularly appealing. The proximity to the City Palace means easy access to its intricate architecture and stunning courtyards. Evenings can be spent exploring the illuminated palace or enjoying a rooftop dinner with views over the old city.
For solo travellers, staying near the City Palace and Sadar Bazaar provides a lively and engaging base. The constant activity in the bazaar means there's always something to see, and the abundance of small eateries and shops makes it easy to explore independently.
When is the best time to go to Khandi?
The best time to visit Khandi is during the cooler, drier months, typically from October to March.
During these months, the weather is most pleasant, with warm, sunny days and cooler evenings. This makes it ideal for exploring the outdoor attractions and historical sites without the discomfort of the intense heat or the monsoon rains. You'll find it comfortable for sightseeing around the Khandi Fort and wandering through the old city's markets.
Couples often find this period great for a romantic getaway. The pleasant weather allows for leisurely walks, enjoying rooftop dinners, and experiencing the cultural richness of Khandi without the crowds of peak season. It's also a great time for desert safaris and other outdoor activities.
For those looking for a stress-free trip, avoiding the summer months (April to June) and the monsoon season (July to September) is highly recommended.
