Serendipity - waterfront cottage on Quimby Pond

"I'm sure that anyone who searches for a vacation spot from afar always worries if what you see over a computer screen will meet expectations, Serendipity exceeded them and dismissed any concerns from the minute we got out of the car, and only got better upon entering the house. This was a home run that turned into a grand slam as the week progressed. The house had every possible amenity you need. It's not a high end over the top house, but perfectly suited for everyday folks who love Maine and cherish each day you're there. The location is absolutely perfect. It's quiet, located on a no engine pond ( a non-negotiable must ) with a 35 yard walk to the dock. We enjoyed each sunset with loons calling across the pond. The proximity to Oquossoc Village in 5 mins is terrific. The museum is filled with an abundance of historical artifacts and information about Rangeley, the Oquossoc Store (great for lunch, burgers) is reasonably priced and has great service, along with the Farmers Daughter. It didn't seem possible a short drive back would take us to the peaceful Serendipity. The many hiking trails are close, downtown Rangeley is 10 mins away, it's an overall great location. The team of knowledgeable and responsive rental agents helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They listened carefully, and if they weren't 100% sure about a question, they consulted a colleague for an accurate answer. Morton & Furbish really get customer service and the service experience. Our well behaved dog was in heaven. I wholeheartedly recommend Serendipity for your trip to Rangeley."

"A hidden gem. Absolutely amazing location with lake access on the most beautiful little lake. We loved sitting on the dock and jumping in the water. The cabin is comfortable, well stocked, and suited our family of 4 perfectly. Close to town of Rangely and Saddleback Mountain (which we enjoyed climbing). Wish we could have stayed longer."

"Property fit our family needs perfectly, minor issue with the hot water but Jeff was super easy to get in contact with and after we determined the problem would need an expert to resolve, service tech arrived promptly and resolved the issue."

"The lakehouse was great for our family. We had our 3 children and they each have a child so a 4 bedroom would have been better suited for us for sleeping arrangements but the space is so big and yard is beautiful it worked out! We had an amazing stay! Our 9 yr old granddaughter loved the lake. The other two grandkids are only 1 so perhaps when they’re older we could return.Thanks for everything!"

"This was our first time staying here. The property was nice and we loved the covered deck/porch with the view of the lake. The upstairs loft king size bedroom was nice and the bed was perfect for me. The little 1/2 bathroom was very convenient for me also. The bunkbed room was perfect for all the kids we had with us. The queen size bedroom was ok. Having the twin bed pull out from under the bed was nice but…the queen mattress was horrible!! I wish I had taken a picture but I never did. In my opinion it needs to completely be replaced. The room with the futon was nice as well. Having access to so many different types of kayaks, canoes, paddle boat, row boat was really amazing/nice. The kids had a great time using them. It was nice sitting on the dock all day and watching the sunset was wonderful. Unfortunately we did not swim due to so many leaches, no one really wanted to get in the water which was disappointing but you really can’t control that. My final thoughts are…it’s a very nice property, nice house, awesome so many boats were included and having air conditioning was great!!!We would definitely consider this property again, it was perfect for the amount of people we had but like I said…the queen mattress really needs replacing! Any and all communication with owners was also perfect.Thank you for a great stay!!Jackie"

"This cottage was very clean and well equipped. I really enjoyed the inside of the property which was newly renovated. There were plenty of places to sleep. The Internet works great if you were in the cabin, but not by the water. There is no cellular service although there is a hard line to call out in the event of an emergency. It’s a short walk down to the path to get to the water and you have to walk through the owners property. . Also, they had an animal repellent device which scared our dog and she wouldn’t go down to the water the rest of the week. The lake is beautiful tons of nature and very calm for kayaking and canoeing. Swimming is a bit difficult and there are leeches in the water but I guess that’s to be expected. The properties around the lake are very quaint and well kept. It was the most quiet, serene, and peaceful place. At night, you can go out on the dock and star gaze. Thank you for sharing your place with us. We enjoyed our week!"
