Apartments in Keflavik

"Reasonably priced hotel near the airport and about 45 minutes from Reykjavic. We stayed three nights. Self check in and out, put your room key in the slot to turn on the electricity. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the black out curtains (we were there in June) worked well. Nice peninsula for walking and bird watching. Easy to get to Golden Circle and the south coast. We've stayed in other hotels with this model that have a concierge closet and cell phone access to staff, these things would have been handy if there was a problem, but we didn't need to access anything during our stay. If you're on a budget this is a great place to stay! Spend your money on food instead :) "

"We arrived late. Instructions for check-in were easy. Room and property were clean. We did not encounter any staff, which, was sort of nice. We stayed at two 4 star hotels on our vacation. The Blue Viking was far better than both. Better beds and cleaner. Was sort of like staying at your Aunts house. If I revisit Iceland, I would definitely stay again. Thank you for your patience with all my questions. "

"Cheap and cheerful place to stay for a night. Whilst it was all self service with no reception, there was a useful notice board which provided all the info I required including a taxi number."

"Nice modern hotel. Good room sizes. Excellent food in restaurant. Odd location. Very close to KEF airport but an hour away from Reykjavík. 20 minutes from Blue Lagoon and not much else. Taxis are very expensive and no other public transportation options. I stayed on my way out of Iceland "

"Does live up to photos and is somewhat better in terms of interior. Beds were very comfortable, much better mattresses than many other Iceland comparables. Entry to apartment and check in process just need some extra work and it would be full marks. If you are looking at booking this off of the photos I would say go ahead, just know that the apartment is not what shows up on Google when you search Keflavík Luxury Apartments is not the unit pictured/booked here. All the host needs is to add some extra info to their check-in email about getting to it and what to expect on the exterior (unit is part of a warehouse type building with an unlocked door leading to an interior hallway space that leads to the doors for at least one, if not several units). The exterior was just so unmarked that when we saw it we left the first time thinking it was just an industrial space. Even if you try the door and see the hallway you might think you were in the wrong place at first. Once inside the unit it was clear the host wanted to make it exceed the expectation of the photos, there was a fuller kitchen than expected that was even stocked with some olive oil and coffee syrup. I don’t think there was wifi there, nothing was in the check in info about it and there wasn’t an obvious open network SSID for the place. Someone had messed up the bathroom door handle a bit, but that can happen to any short term rental. Overall super pleased despite the minor hiccups."
