About this property
Family fun at This Beautiful Lakefront Adirondack Camp
Come find out why we love our camp, the lake, and the North Country so much. Whether it's quiet evenings in a rocking chair on the screened in porch watching the moon rise over the lake, or for the fun and adventures the lake and the Adirondack North Country have to offer, this camp has and does it all. The fall colors are spectacular in the North Country and seeing them by boat from the lake is something special. Built in 1939 by my Grandfather, modernized in the 80's and 2000's, now available for you to enjoy. I live on the property. I have a separate apartment, so you can see as little or as much of me as you like. I'm there to be your tour guide, boat captain, watersport instructor for wakeboarding, waterskiing, stand up paddleboarding, and tubing, leading day hikes and beautiful road bike rides, or just in the background as your invisible caretaker making sure everything goes smoothly. I grew up spending summers at the camp and it's by far one of the most beautiful and fun places in the world. Please limit the number of people at the camp, at any one time, to 8. Wake up in the master en suite to the sound of waves lapping at the shoreline. Then coffee at the kitchen table overlooking the lake. The second bedroom has twin beds and is private and quiet. The kids room is just that, with bunk beds, and 2 single beds, trust me, they won't be doing anything other than sleeping in there after all there is to do during the day at the camp. Rain or shine there is always something to do. Mornings, get up early and cut up the glassy water before anyone else. Then a bike ride over rolling hills along the lake, or a hike up Pocomoonshine, paddle out to Schuyler island for a secluded picnic, swimming and tubing in the afternoon. For the less adventurous, shopping in Lake Placid, check out the ski jumps, amazing! The drive to Burlington is just over an hour, with a ferry ride. Head up to Montreal, Canada's largest city, 90 minutes. Don't forget your passport! Rainy days are nice too. Explore Ausable Chasm and raft down the Ausable river, Parc Safari and waterpark is just over the border an hour away. At the end of the day cool down on the screened in porch, or warm up in front of the large fireplace in the living room. Roast marshmallows over a bonfire on the beach, then lay back and count shooting stars. Life at the camp is great. Come and find out for yourself.

We enjoyed a wonderful four days at Jonathan’s lakefront camp. Jonathan was a great host, and even took us across the lake to Vermont in his boat. Jonathan was responsive to every query we had. The house was well stocked and comfortable.
This was our 3rd stay at the camp and it was fantastic. The house is beautiful and is very comfortable. The new screens on the porch make sitting out there even more delightful.
Beautiful location. Mornings spent on the porch watching the sunrise over the lake. Evenings with a fire on the beach. Day on the water, taking advantage of the kayaks and paddle boards. Overall, great weekend. The house itself is charming. The only recommendation I would make would be new mattresses.
The camp was perfect. Jonathan was an amazing host. Very easy to get a hold of and talk to. Gave us many great suggestions of places to go and places to eat.
This is a wonderful place with a gracious host. The large stone fireplace was appreciated on a couple of cold evenings. The sun porch with storm windows was one of our favorite places to read, chat, play games, and view the ever changing lake, sky, and trees. The kitchen is well equipped and also has beautiful views of the lake. All windows open to allow fresh air on warmer days. The house and furnishings are very charming.Jonathan was very responsive to any question or concern and made us feel welcome. We will come back. It is a treasure.
We absolutely loved the camp. The lakeview is better than the pictures! Hearing the waves lap against the shore throughout the night was so relaxing. We loved all the water sports. Jonathan took us out on the boat several times and we loved the tubing! The porch was our favorite place as well as sitting on the beach during the day and at night with a fire and smores! We were also able to take day trips to Lake Placid and Montreal. Jonathan was the absolute best host and guide! We will definitely be back to make more memories!
We spent the weekend and the eclipse at the camp. It was spectacular, the view of the eclipse was perfect. The house was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations.
We had a wonderful time. The view from the porch was amazing. We were able to watch the sunset each morning and even swim one warm fall day. Jonathan was a fantastic host and very responsive. Thank you so much!!
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at Johnathan's home, and appreciated the many fun ways to enjoy the lake - paddleboards, kayak, tube, and a boat ride around the lake followed by all of us getting a chance to try tubing for the first time! The house had plenty of space and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. When we had a cooler day we took the opportunity to cross the lake by ferry to enjoy the city of Burlington and the restaurants and shops it has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our visit!
Beautiful and fun! My family of four had a great stay at “King Anchorage” and our host Jonathan was the best! We enjoyed being out on the water, spent a lot of time in the awesome screened in porch, and had a cozy fire every night. Took the Ferry over to Burlington for the day too. Hope to visit again some day!
The lake house was a great venue to enjoy family time. Loved the big fireplace in the living room with a great cabin vibe. We enjoyed all that the area had to offer, Ausable Chasm, Lake Placid village, hiking Baxter Mt trails for views of the fall colors, visited the Keene farmers market and the nearby brewery. At the lake we paddled the canoe & paddle board to Schuyler Island, enjoyed the fire pit at the beach roasting marshmallows and making S’mores. It was a lovely family vacation!
We enjoyed our stay. The camp had a variety of water crafts which we used every day. At night there were many games to choose from. The screen porch was perfect for meals and relaxing. The camp could have been a bit cleaner (fridge and main room) but overall we had a nice stay. Jonathan was a great host
Jonathan's camp is a treasure. The cabin has beautiful views and lots of different places and ways to enjoy them. He provides excellent service. The camp provides the best of charm from another era and modern comforts. From the roaring fire in the fireplace to the lake front screened in porch camp can be enjoyed no matter what the weather brings.
My family truly enjoyed our stay at camp King. The property was absolutely breathtaking. The accommodations in the home were second to none.
The lake was perfect! The water was crystal clear and warm. The kids could jump off the dock and play with all of the wonderful water toys that were provided. Jonathan even took the children on a tubing excursion.
If you are looking for a little piece of heaven then I would highly recommend camp King.
Jonathan was a GREAT host! Very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the Ausable Chasm, Walker Nature Trail and especially the boat ride to the marina for dinner with Jonathan giving us an informative talk on the lake and the other cabins. The cabin had everything needed including a 549 piece kayak puzzle we finished in two nights.
Our family took our first family vacation together here at the camp on beautiful Lake Champlain. Jonathan is my cousin and he has truly created a vacation dream come true. I’m impressed by what he has accomplished here. The house was a perfect layout for our extended family (5 adults, 2 little kids and a young dog). There was room for everyone to gather and space to spread out as well. And the lake is the cherry on top! So much fun on the lake. Jonathan is a wonderful host and we are all already looking forward to our next visit!
The camp on the lake is a true gem. Coming from the south where every bit of shorefront property is stacked wall-to-wall with large houses and huge boat docks, this Lake Champlain Adirondack retreat is the complete opposite. The lake is never crowded, the cabin holds its 1930s charm with modern amenities, and if it rains, there is so much to do in the immediate vicinity. What a great time and Jonathan is a superb host who makes sure his guests are well accommodated and there are lots of toys to play with on the lake.
We had a wonderful experience at this property. The beach and dock were everything our little family could have asked for- and all of the water toys were perfection. We had kayaks, paddleboards, paddle boats and canoes at our disposal. Our host took us out on his boat in the afternoon and was a wealth of information. He was available at all times and improved our stay immensely. I suggest bringing water shoes as the beach is all rocks and definitely hurts the feet. Fires in the evening were wonderful- we can’t wait to return!
We had a wonderful time at this lovely and well-equipped home. The screened in porch is heaven with comfortable rocking chairs and a table that could be opened up to allow dining on the porch. Views cannot be beat. Kitchen was very nice and had everything you need. Living room and bedrooms were very comfortable . Dock was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Jonathan was a very friendly and pleasant host, especially nice of him to provide perfect weather too.
Despite a week of cold and rainy weather our family had a wonderful relaxing stay at this charming and comfortable North Country Retreat. The house has a fascinating history and the maritime fixtures, just add to the mystic. The big fireplace in the Living Room made for very comfortable and relaxing evenings with family. No iphones, no TV, just a warm fire and family time. That’s the way to end a day.The views are gorgeous, overlooking Lake Champlain and with Burlington in the distance. It was too cold for us to enjoy the Lake during our stay, but the beach were very enticing and almost got us to take a cold dip. Having breakfast while watching the sunrise, let’s just say it is priceless.Jonathan was a wonderful host. When we got there, there was a fire ready to go in the fireplace. This made for a very nice first night. We definitely will make another visit when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy all that this North Country Retreat can offer.
Our family traveled to upstate NY to attend a wedding and we decided to make it a week get-a-way! We were looking for a relaxing location with activities for the teens! Johnathan's camp was everything we were hoping for! We had long mornings of relaxation sipping coffee on the screen porch. The kids swam and paddled most of the day! Johnathan advised us on everything from shopping and restaurants, to day trips and to our ferry to Vermont for the wedding. He graciously took the kids on a boat ride and tubing! We loved hearing the history of his family and the camp! Kitchen was well stocked with a nice new grill and we cooked almost everynight! Thank you Johnathan for everything! Hoping to make another trip next year!
