    The area
The house is a quick walk or drive into downtown Keene, a quaint college town with terrific restaurants, shops, parks, bars and entertainment. Situated in the beautiful Monadnock region, there is so much to explore! Hiking, orchards, lakes, farms, classic towns, ski areas, rivers, bike trails, museums and more. We’ve written a guide to the house and local attractions to tip you off to some of our favorites that we’ll send upon booking.
    Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home, porch, yard and parking pad. The only restricted area is a locked mudroom at the back of the house (not very exciting anyway) and the exterior red shed (someday this will be a cool guest space).

    Other things to note
The house is best suited to families and friends with children 5 and older. Our goal is for you to have a fabulous stay and ensure guest safety and mutual respect for our home: We’ll send you our house rules upon booking to make sure everyone has the same expectations.

There is a bed in the reading loft that is strictly for lounging. This hideaway spot is only accessible by ladder and is not safe to use as a sleeping area. But we do have a bonus twin bed in the library alcove that is perfectly safe and comfortable for sleeping.

    Notes:

--VRBO doesn't require Guest ID Verification but we do. It's a simple process. After booking, you'll receive an email with a link for easy verification.

--We don't allow large parties but we do permit small gatherings of family and friends as long as you commit to cleaning up and treating the house with care.

The house is homey and has most everything you need. It was a great place for my extended family to spend Christmas. The large kitchen and double ovens made it perfect for us to make a Christmas dinner. We had a snowstorm while there and the host came and made sure to have us dug out afterwards.

The home was inviting clean and comfortable. Our inviting, provided us with ample kitchen items, towels, and entertainment in the form of books and extensive library of nostalgic albums and games. There was plenty of parking for four cars in the driveway as well as street parking if needed. The location was perfect for walking into town to enjoy the many restaurants and shops.

We had six adults and one child. the house has much charm and a lot of thought has been put into having a pleasant stay. There is one bathroom on the first floor and a bedroom with a single bed. The other bathroom is on the second floor, which needs to accommodate everyone else. We had a handicapped adult and the stairs were difficult for him to use in order to be able to sleep with his wife. the bedrooms are all upstairs except for the single. The location worked well for us and the hosts are very easy to communicate with and were accommodating with an early check-in.
