Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kazaviti?
The best area to stay in Kazaviti is the village itself, specifically the Upper Village (Ano Kazaviti) and the Lower Village (Kato Kazaviti).

The Upper Village (Ano Kazaviti) is the heart of the historic settlement. It's characterised by traditional stone houses, narrow cobbled streets, and a very relaxed pace. You'll find a few tavernas serving local specialities under ancient plane trees in the main square. It's a place where you can truly switch off and enjoy the sounds of nature. This area is superb for couples seeking a romantic and secluded escape, or anyone wanting to experience authentic Greek village life away from the crowds.

The Lower Village (Kato Kazaviti) is just a short stroll down the hill from Ano Kazaviti. While still very traditional, it offers a slightly more accessible feel with a few more guesthouses and tavernas. It's still incredibly peaceful and retains the charm of the Upper Village.
When is the best time to go to Kazaviti?
The best time to visit Kazaviti is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures superb for exploring the island without the intense heat and crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the natural beauty of the region, from the olive groves to the beaches, particularly inviting during these times. For couples, this period allows for romantic strolls through the village and peaceful evenings.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the milder temperatures, making outdoor activities and beach days much more comfortable.
