2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness
Never again !
This has been my first experience using Vrbo, and staying in one of Jason’s properties (specifically Property # 10081712ha). The expense to make the place look shiny and new is very obvious, however so was the evidence of water damage and mold. If it were a matter of aesthetics alone, I would rate this unit a solid 2.5 out of 5 stars. If the same effort and expense was taken to make the space and experience welcoming and comfortable I wouldn’t be writing this type of review. Taking my lackluster experience into account, I give this property 1 out l of 5 stars.
Here’s why...
Smell. We’re in a humid place and the building structure is primarily cement so I expected some odor. Usually the host will air out the rooms and turn on the fans prior to my arrival. That was not the cast here. I was told that “the slight damp smell was unavoidable and would dry once the a/c is turned on”.
The pool was not clean.
The refrigerator in the beautiful kitchen does not work. As a result, the host placed a (working) old refrigerator in the entryway. This did not fair well when trying to enter the unit with luggage.
WiFi. Only works on one level and is spotty at best. There’s a router on the 2nd level that does not work.
Stained sheets.
Airport Service. For 1000 baht my guests and I were picked up at the airport and dropped off at the unit. Other than try to sell us his sister tour packages, that is all. The driver took our bags out and left. He did not help us take the bags up the 1st flight of stairs or entertain our questions about transportation.
Communal area furniture did not match what was displayed on the Vrbo page. The 1st level is empty for the most part with patio furniture in place of what was displayed as a sofa.
In short, this property was a huge disappointment. As a woman traveling in a country that is not my home, it’s important that I and my guests feel welcome and safe. Arriving to a location on a hill, on a sub property of a country club to find one of the rooms already open does not make me feel safe. A host that doesn’t take into account the comfort of their guests enough to make sure basic amenities are met (quits on the bed, working appliances, and breathable air) should not be a host. Don’t get me wrong, the space has potential to be a great property. We spoke to Jason about our issues and he was very nonchalant . However the intent here is to make money off you, not to ensure that you have a great experience.
