"The staff was very nice and room was extremely clean. The hotel is definitely outdated and needs some work. All but one elevator was working and even that one wasn’t working properly. Would definitely stay again because the price and staff are the sweet spot "

"We booked this property due to being on the water and pet-friendly. Accommodations were perfect for us and dogs. Check-in was quick and even allowed early arrival due to storms moving in the next day. We spent most of our time, even during the rainstorms, on the deck. Cabin was cozy and bed was comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Will definately keep this on our "let's go again" list!"

"This was such a nice place to stay! The location was great (right on the water and close to Jefferson). There were six of us and we had plenty of room to hang out and sleep comfortably. The screened in back porch gave us a mosquito-free way to enjoy the view. We also appreciated the elevator!"

"Large, adirable and well stocked cabin. Family had a ball kayaking and using the fire pit. The Host was very accommodating. Stayed for three nights in March and would happily stay again."

"Awesome place for a large gathering!! It's a house that keeps giving, space wise. Beds and pillows are super comfy, love the outdoor space and excellent proximity to the state park. The only negative was we had to mop the floors when we arrived. Highly recommend and we will be back!!"

Goofy weather (spring in Texas) kept the fish away but the kayaks definitely made up for it. Nice and quiet, but not secluded, so hopping over to Jefferson or the refuge was a short, easy drive.One big bed and a pullout couch was perfect for the three of us, and as others have noted, the huge screened in porch was fantastic. Overall highly recommend the cabin and host. A, well done "
