Super Value in Carlscrona
We spent a little over two weeks in Sweden and stayed at several fine hotels. The Clarion Collection Hotel Carlscrona was easily the best of them all. In every aspect from cleanliness and condition to wonderful staff to the delicious food offerings, this hotel is fantastic. It was certainly the very best hotel value we experienced in Sweden.

Great location, service and offerings
Great location overlooking the inner harbor of Karlskrona. Friendly staff, great service. Had the complimentary dinner on arrival. Order a bottle of wine, corked unfortunately but replaced with sincere apology. Room was clean and well equipped. Hairdryer a bit weak but that was the only complaint. Breakfast had good varieties of classic full breakfast and was fresh. Cozy hotel that is close to everything. Had dinner across the street at Sjörök which I also can recommend.

More shelf surface in the bathroom. My husband kept his electric razor on the high shelf next to the door. It fell off and was destroyed. It was very inconvenient having to keep most of our bathroom items somewhere else.

Loved the breakfasts especially, and have never had complimentary dinners. Staff is terrific. Loved being at the marina... Only critique, operable window too small for adequate ventilation

Close and good food
Perfect location near train station and close to everything of Karlskrona. We stayed one night to visit a relative that was in the hospital. When we arriverad there was a buffet, the good was very good!

Great location; really good breakfast....except the coffee was quite weak. Staff was really helpful and very pleasant. Room was a bit small....very hard for 2 people to move around at the same time. Bathroom was a good size, with a big walk-in shower.

Everything was good. The room where clean and fresh and good size. The food was very tasty and was included in the room-price. The breakfast was amazing. Everything you wanted was there and more! The location was also very good and close to the city center.

We stayed for two nights over a weekend and our stay suited our needs. Good location, really handy for us. Our room was clean, quiet, comfortable beds and good WiFi. Parking was close by and on the weekend it's free. The bathroom was a good size, however, there were only two thin bath towels for two people. I found the room too warm. There is no air-conditioning and there is only one small window that can be opened and even though I had this open the whole night, I found it had to sleep. Clarion Hotels always use the same thick duvets all year round and in all their hotels, it is a bit strange? Something else that was strange, were the small holes in the walls above the lights in the bathroom and above the mirror in the main room! They were obviously there after repairs or changes from moving these things, but why wasn't the job done properly? The hotel offers free breakfast and offered a good variety in a typically Swedish style. This could be eaten in a beautiful glassed-in conservatory which was really cosy over looking the garden. Also a complementary evening meal is offered. When we left the receptionist promptly prepared our receipt and handed it over with a smile, but she never asked "did you enjoy your stay"..it's a shame, they are small things but they do bring down the overall experience.

Very nice smorgasbord dinner included in the price. Breakfast the next morning also included, traditional Scandinavian fare. Hotel is very easy to get to. Parking lot across the street was free for us, on the weekend. Lots of walkable things to see in Karlskrona. Nice Maritime Museum. We took the boat tour of Kungsholm Fortress, very informative. For this you must get your tickets ahead of time at the tourist information office, with your passports. Recommended!

Great breakfast
We had a nice stay at this hotel. Breakfast was amazing and the staff treated us really well. The room was clean but just had a small shower area. Overall decent location for going out and sightseeing.

Typical for Clarion Collection, attentative staff, well appointed rooms, evening meal and afternoon cakes. Annexe building with some bedrooms. Lovely garden area to sit in. Bedrooms had no air conditioning but fans supplied. Complementary afternoon tea and delicious cakes. Cheaper parking across road than hotel. Free at weekends abd overnight. Only gripe was no vegetarian options at dinner; most Clarion's offer alternatives.

Great visit to Karlscrona made all the better by this great hotel. Very good value for the room rate especially when you consider breakfast, dinner and even afternoon tea are all complimentary.

Ticked a lot of boxes well.
The hotel is well located for visitors: 400m from the railway station and the end of the main road into Karlskrona, and within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. The hotel has limited parking for a flat fee - the alternative is a pay-per-hour carpark across the road the choice probably depends on how much luggage you need in the room and how long you are staying. The room was OK - comfortable enough with Swedish functionality, but the real pluses of the hotel were the staff and the food: - All the staff had faultless English they went out of their way to explain the tourist features of Karlskrona and (this being the first night of our first visit to Sweden) ‘things Swedish’. - Clarion Collection hotels operate on a compulsory half-board basis: with food and tea/coffee always available in the lounge (the downside was no kettle etc in the room). We enjoyed afternoon tea (croissant and cake) on arrival the main dish (no choice) of the 3 course evening meal was salmon with mustard/dill sauce and breakfast was a good spread of continental and cooked choices. The food was excellent. After afternoon tea, we went on a familiarisation stroll around the baroque town and then to the islet of Stumholmen which houses the naval museum and former naval buildings - now conserved. In hindsight, we should have done two separate trips, We had been planning to leave after breakfast, but didn’t regret at all the decision to delay departure until the afternoon to fit in a boat trip and guided tour of the Kungsholmen island fortification. En route there is a good view of the naval dockyard and the tiny circular harbour at the destination was fascinating. By the disembarkation point was the interesting Blekinge local heritage museum - which also served a good lunch. We would certainly consider returning to this hotel - perhaps on a car-free Scandinavian minibreak. Karlskrona has an hourly direct train service from Copenhagen airport (60 min journey). A couple of nights each in Copenhagen and Karlskrona sounds promising.

Great service! Hotel could use a face lift.
The personnel were very nice. Called to inform me at bout dinner and said they could save us a plate if we would arrive after dinner service. Breakfast and Dinner was simple but tasty. Only criticism would be the room could use a little renovation. The walls in the room and bathroom had holes where something was hung before. And there wasn’t lotion in the bathroom.

Välstädat och mysigt hotell. Frukost med stort utbud av grönsaker och müsli, flingor, fröer och bär till tre sorters youghurt och fil. Omelett och bacon, köttbullar samt olika sorters mjukt/ hårt bröd och sen pannkakor och Nutella till efterrätt, eller kex och ostar om man vill ha det. Melon och ananas. Havremjöl, vanlig mjölk och kaffe som smakade riktigt gott. Frukost kan intas i uterummet som har en liten kamin i mitten och sov skön belysning. Otroligt trevliga receptionister och kökspersonal. Kvällsmat och fika som ingår också. Parkering precis utanför. Helt klart en av de bättre hotellupplevelserna. Fem av fem.
