"Excellent facilities in the heart of rethymno. Great location with nearby parking options (not linked to the property), and walking distance to several points of interest, cafes, restaurants, and of course the beach! We had a junior suite which was very spacious, had a balcony, living room / kitchen, and bedroom all with Aircon, plus a great bathroom. There were bottles of water left outside our room which was great as we drink a lot of water generally, but even more so when it's over 30c heat! The cleaning team were really on it. When coming back from a day of exploration the room was always tidied, bins emptied, beds made. From our balcony we could see ongoing renovations across the road to one of the historic mosques, which was pretty cool. Breakfast was included in our stay and every morning we were not disappointed with the variety available. Eggs were cooked to order on request, and a plate of fruit was bought around every time. They really did provide a service, all the team were exceptionally polite, spoke great English, and attentive to all of their guests, as seen during breakfast. It was a special occasion for my wife and I, our honeymoon, and I have no regrets staying here. Should we find ourselves in Rethymno again, we will be staying here"

"Excellent hotel , four of us enjoyed an extremely pleasant seven days at the Aquila Porto. We had sixth floor beach-facing rooms - the rooms were a good size, bathroom was clean, air-conditioning a god-send, very quiet and easy to sleep at night. The beach across the road is well-kept, no problem securing sun loungers. Sea can be a bit choppy but that's not the hotel's fault! The Aquila Porto's two main selling points are (1) the food. Its not the largest buffet we'd ever seen but its by far/away the best. Great variety, all beautifully cooked, a real pleasure (2) the staff. all are extremely helpful and accommodating, service is first class. No real gripes at all - breakfast can get a bit busy, and the coffee maybe could be better, but overall a definite five star, ten out of ten experience. Highly recommended."

"It’s not an ideal property- it’s on a busy street and sits above a car rental shop with autos displayed in front, and it’s 2 flight walk up to reception (though I’m told there’s an elevator in back of the building). The view is toward a marina and industrial port- not as picturesque as Chania. The room was comfortably spacious and clean, and staff was great! Very close to bunches of restaurants and shops."

"Hotel easy to find, next to large supermarket on a main road, a mile from the cross island route. Some parking, 3 allocated spaces and then on street parking nearby Has a lift but some stairs involved for most rooms. Room was a 2 room apartment with a large lounge/kitchen area, with a large Smart TV, oven, hob and fridge. Balcony off each room, large shower room, and plenty of storage space. Complimentary breakfast was good. Pool area limited, not enough sunbeds and begins to lose sun from about 3pm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. 100yds from the massive beach and its safe promenade full of bars and restaurants leading to town, about a mile away. The main road option I would avoid on foot, parked cars and busy junctions."
