The home was built in 1900 and lovingly restored into a 3 unit apartment complex. This unit is the entire 3rd floor of the house. There are a total of 30 steps to the apartment entrance.
Havilah Home is located within minutes of great downtown KC locations like Crossroads Arts District, Power and Light District, Union Station, and the National WWI Memorial. Located in the historic Longfellow Heights neighborhood just a few blocks from Union Hill and Martini Corner.

Quaint Apartment

We enjoyed staying at this quaint apartment while in Kansas City. It was as advertised, creatively decorated, unique, and memorable. The host was responsive and helpful, making the entire process seamless. We much prefer these types of experiences to impersonal hotel stays. We recommend this lovely apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and charming home away from home.

Beautiful Place

Fantastic

My friend and I stayed for the weekend for a concert in town and loved everything about this place. Decor is beautiful as is the neighborhood and had such a homey feel to it. Hosts were very kind and welcoming. Everything we could ever need was provided, and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in a safe and comfortable area.

Great place

Great place to stay at. Check in and check out process were easy and simple. Great communication with the hosts. Quiet neighborhood. Great distance to everything. Only downside was that the stairs were a bit narrow and steep. Other than that, we had a great time.

I was so glad we chose your property over a hotel. It was a beautiful neighborhoo. We met one neighbor who was really nice. The inside was beautifully decorated, very clean, and even had extra suppliies if needed. The stairs are a workout, but who doesn't need some exercise. I would highly recommend.Julie

Getaway

Chiefs football game stay

This property was the perfect fit for our one night stay. The communication was great. We found the location very easily and were able to enter with no problems. The 3rd floor room was so nice, very clean, and very cozy. We would recommend this for anyone.

Great location with nice spaces.

The location was ideal as my sister just bought a place a block away. Stairs were a little steep, but easily negotiated. Super clean with a few very nice touches. Great communications with the host, too. I’ll definitely be staying again since it’s so close to my sister’s new place.

Great little spot for a weeklong stay

We enjoyed our stay here for 5 nights in KC. It was centrally located, making our daily excursions easy to get to in a short amount of time. The space was perfect for 2 people with separate spaces for sleeping, eating, and relaxing. Our hosts communicated well and were quick to answer our questions. And the stairs ensured that I did not lose momentum on my exercise routine while on vacation! :)

The hosts provided excellent communication. The check in process was easy - a code to the door was provided days before arrival. The hosts checked in peridoically to see what we needed - but everything we could need was already accounted for. The house is old, but the rooms were well-kept and nicely furnished. The room was cool and comfortable, even during 95 degree weather. The only potential concern were the stairs - we had no issue, they were safe and well-lit, but for guests with modbility issues, just know that there are several flights of stairs up to the room entrance. I don't believe there is an elevator.

Cozy and charming. Would stay again!

This was such a a great place to stay! The unit has a cozy, retro, and antique vibe. The bed was comfortable and clean. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. The hosts were in contact via messages and responded quickly. We had no issues with finding the home or parking. The location is fantastic for getting anywhere in downtown quickly! I will note that this unit has some pretty steep stairs to climb. We had no problem with that, but if you have mobility issues it could be difficult to access. We loved it so much and would absolutely come back for another visit!

Quaint studio apartment

The apartment was clean and cheery. My friend had a little trouble navigating the steps. Close to many things. The hosts are great. They even included a bottle of wine. I forgot a portable charger and they have graciously said they would send it to me.

Historical 3rd-Floor Charmer

We really enjoyed the property. The private side entrance was nice because we knew we weren't disturbing anyone while coming and going. The apartment was clean and decorated very nicely, and the amenities were ample. The hosts were very responsive. The best part was that we were in the middle of everything we wanted to do. We very seldom took the highway and instead drove on the thoroughfares/artery streets to get from midtown to downtown or uptown or KCKS quickly. The steps are significant, but carpeted and manageable with sturdy railings. Thank you, Nick and Rachel. We definitely look forward to staying at your 120-year old historical charmer again!

Felt at home

Space was charming. Needed a space to lay our heads while visiting relatives nearby.The host was attentive without be intrusive. The space had all the necessity items. If you forgot something it probably would be there. Area was clean and well kept. The only fault might be long set of narrow steps to the location but nothing not in the description and there was a sitting area on one landing in case you needed a break heading up. Neighborhood was quiet and felt safe enough for a 2 mile walk one morning. Place is on my list of possible future stays.

Sheraton alternative

I had a conference at the Sheraton and was so fortunate to find this delightful place to stay a 20 min walk from the Sheraton. It was like a little apartment on the side of a home. It had a separate entrance with a key code. Inside it was cozy, clean and comfortable. I actually wish I could stay longer. It was a great location near Crown center, nice neighborhood and so easy to get around by walking. The only downfall was the stairs. They are steep, winding and there are 2 flights. Do not bring heavy luggage or have knee issues.

Great Place

This is really a wonderful place to stay. The bed was comfortable. The couch made out to a bed if you needed it. Very quiet neighborhood. We felt safe. I love the mix of new and old furniture. It made it a very unique place to stay. It was close to everything we wanted to do i.e. arrowhead Stadium, Crown Center, city market. It was very easy to get around where we wanted to go. This is an attic apartment. If you Do Not have the ability to do stairs, I would not recommend this place. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. You do however have a couple of places that you can stop and rest that is a plus.

Great property if you like an old home feel. The home was very nicely decorated and the hosts provided some nice touches to welcome us. As mentioned in other reviews, the inside stairs are very steep. Traveling in Kansas City was a breeze with map apps on your phone, otherwise might be difficult.
