"It was fine for an overnight stay. The neighborhood was sketchy, and I was afraid to walk outside alone. Luckily, you can order and get room service! The toilet in shower was down the hall."
"The staff was super good. So helpful, they even walked me in the neighborhood to help me with shopping. The food they got me was excellent. They also helped me figure out how to get where I was going. And to get a taxi. Siliguri in itself is kind of a sketchy area, but it's inexpensive. And they are trying to make the hotel kind of an oasis in the midst. They were doing quite a bit of renovating while I was there, trying to make it really nice.
Again, the best part was the staff who were just...
"First and foremost, I highly rate the staff as they were very friendly and helpful. Subham, the property manager, was extremely helpful and really went out his way to look after us, such as calling reliable taxis after we had two major setbacks (which didn't relate to the hotel I'll add). Partha Dutta on reception was very friendly and such a nice guy, Palash Nath in the restaurant/bar provided such a great service, as well as the rest of the team. On the topic of restaurant & bar, it is very...
"I enjoyed staying at the Mount Amara, but there were a few difficulties – the hotel is very quiet because it is about 300 m away from the main road, and overlooks an open field. It was good being away from the hustle and Brussel. The main problem was that I had booked a room which had two double beds, because I was travelling with a young friend. When I got there there was only one bed in the room. I race this with the front desk, but as my friend was not arriving until the next day, I...

"Great heritage hotel well laid out set in a tea garden estate. Service and staff were excellent and the food was very good. Only 30 mins from the airport. "
I race this with the front desk, but as my friend was not arriving until the next day, I explained that there was no rush - they had offered a mattress on the floor. I was reasonably upset about this because the advertising and booking definitely stated to double beds. My friend arrived the next day, and we raise the matter with the Manager and the front desk on three occasions, but nothing happened. The manager had even said that a sofa bed would be installed, but when we returned that evening there was neither a sofa bed nor a mattress. I discussed this with the staff and they said that they could provide a mattress for Rs.600, which really upset me , because I had already paid for two double beds. On the third day of the booking I spoke to the manager in a fourth right way and explained my dissatisfaction. He did apologise, and later in the day a sofa bed was installed. I then pushed him for compensation in the form of included breakfast even though I had not ticked that box. I would describe this as a difficult negotiation"
