Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kampung Tahan?
The best area to stay in Kampung Tahan is directly within the village itself, particularly along the main road that runs parallel to the Tahan River.

This central strip of Kampung Tahan is the heart of activity for visitors. You'll find most of the guesthouses, local eateries, and tour operators clustered here, making it incredibly convenient for arranging activities and dining. The general layout is linear, with accommodation and services lining the road, and the river and its activities just a short walk away.

Couples often find this area ideal for a relaxed nature escape. Being in the village means easy access to river activities like boat trips to Lata Berkoh or the Canopy Walkway, as well as jungle trekking starting points. The evenings offer a chance to enjoy simple, local meals together without needing to travel far.

For solo travellers, staying in the village centre provides a practical base. It's easy to meet other travellers, join group tours, and access all necessary amenities.
When is the best time to go to Kampung Tahan?
The best time to go to Kampung Tahan is during the dry season, which typically runs from March to September.

During these months, you'll experience more sunshine and less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities like jungle trekking, river cruises, and exploring the national park. The paths will be less muddy, and river levels will be suitable for boat trips, offering easier access to attractions.

Travellers looking for a comfortable and convenient experience will find the dry season particularly appealing.
