"Good hotel for a short stay in Taiping. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was adequate—comfortable bed, small bedside table, small desk, TV, a plastic chair, small bathroom with a hot water shower. No fridge, but that’s not a big deal. The hotel is right in the center of town, which has many really great food stalls everywhere. You won’t be eating anything more than snacks in the room, trust me. I liked my stay at this hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kampung Buaya?
The best area to stay in Kampung Buaya is around the town centre, particularly near Jalan Besar and the surrounding streets.

This area is the heart of Kampung Buaya, offering the most convenience for visitors. Jalan Besar is the main thoroughfare, lined with local eateries, small shops, and essential services. You'll find the local market and the town's primary landmarks within easy walking distance. It's a compact and easily navigable area.

For couples looking for a relaxed and authentic experience, staying near the town centre is ideal. You'll be able to enjoy strolls to local cafes, sample traditional Malaysian cuisine, and experience the day-to-day life of Kampung Buaya without needing extensive travel. The proximity to the riverfront also offers pleasant evening walks.

Solo travellers will also find this central area very convenient. With most amenities and points of interest close by, it's easy to explore independently.
When is the best time to go to Kampung Buaya?
The best time to visit Kampung Buaya is during the dry season, which typically runs from May to September.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny weather and lower humidity, making outdoor activities and exploring the area much more pleasant. The dry season is ideal for those planning to enjoy the local wildlife, particularly crocodile spotting, as the river levels are generally lower, concentrating the animals. It's also a great time for river cruises and jungle treks without the interruption of heavy rainfall.

While the wet season (October to April) brings lush greenery and fewer crowds, the frequent downpours can disrupt travel plans and make some outdoor pursuits less enjoyable.
