Jag hade höga förväntningar inför min vistelse på detta hotell i Uganda, men tyvärr blev upplevelsen inte alls vad jag hade hoppats på. Det som verkligen drog ner hela upplevelsen var städningen – eller snarare avsaknaden av den. Rummet kändes inte fräscht vid ankomst, och under hela vistelsen fick jag inte uppleva någon egentlig förbättring. Det var smutsigt, dammigt och trångt på ett sätt som gjorde att man nästan fick klaustrofobi. Att leva i en sådan miljö under flera dagar påverkar både humör och välmående negativt. Det var inte bara städningen som brast – till och med grundläggande saker som toalettpapper saknades. Jag var tvungen att själv söka upp personalen och be om det, vilket inte ska behövas på ett hotell. Dessa små detaljer skvallrar om att det saknas ett grundläggande system för service och underhåll. Ett tydligt förbättringsarbete krävs, både när det gäller hygien och organisation. Det som dock räddade vistelsen från att bli helt katastrofal var personalen. De var otroligt vänliga, hjälpsamma och gjorde sitt bästa för att lösa de problem som dök upp. Oavsett vad man bad om möttes man med ett leende och en vilja att hjälpa till, vilket jag verkligen uppskattar. Deras bemötande var verkligen guld värt och något hotellet bör vara stolta över.
