"The place is good, the area is good but their reception is not good "

"This boutique hotel is clean, safe, and comfortable. The small gym is surprisingly well equipped with free weights, an elliptical, and even a water rowing machine. I had several meals here, and for such a quiet and intimate place, the food was very good. I stayed twice within a week, and while I did have to ask them to adjust the hot water, everything else was just right. Overall, it’s exactly where I would choose to stay again, and I’d recommend it to others."

"The property is in Harare City, but almost feels like in the country becasue of the lovely grounds. The staff were helpful and the food was good. The room comfortable. The shower wasn't 100% consistant with its temperature, but worked ok."

"The property is in a gated community and very quiet.The backyard is beautiful! I was the only one staying that night. It's a three bedroom, three bath house with very comfortable seating areas inside and out. Staff prepared a delicious steak dinner with fresh made fries and salad. Since I was leaving early, they prepared a breakfast to go. I would definitely stay at Sunbird Guesthouse again!"

"We were greatly disappointed with our stay at this location. Upon arrival, if the language wasn't a barrier and we had another option, we would have left immediately. There was no Zessa electricity every day that we were there and had to use the limited solar power available. We didn't have use of the microwave at all. There was NO washer and dryer as the listing stated. there was NO safe onsite to secure our valuables as the listing stated. There was no security as the property manager asked us to keep the kitchen door unlocked in case she needed to gain access to the solar/electric system, which she did OFTEN! She came over/inside nearly every day for one reason or another. She was a lovely person, but we didn't enjoy the lack of privacy which was claimed in the VRBO listing. The unit was old and the furniture was outdated and uncomfortable. The listing claimed that a King bed was available, but it was a full size bed. There was NO regulator on the hot water so it went from cold to scalding whenever you turned it on! Every shower was a gymnastics routine as you jumped from side to side trying to avoid getting burned by the hot water. I understand we were in Africa, but I suspect that "something" was living inside the fireplace because every night we heard sounds from it. Bugs were everywhere in the house each night and dear hubby told me after we returned home of seeing two lizards inside on separate occasions. I saw one, which was small, but I didn't sleep well that night."
