Perfect Weekend Getaway

Property was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed during our stay, including plentv of towels and extra blankets. The view was fantastic and hot tub a nice feature for the fall like weather. We would definitely stay again.

Quite and the view is amazing

Every time I come to Michigan I will stay here. It was late when I arrived so I had no idea the house was behind the garage. But it looks exactly how the listing but the view is EVERYTHING!!

Wonderful week at the lake!

What a great week!! We choose to rent the pontoon (which was very nice!) it really made the week. We cruised, anchored and swam, fished, it was so fun. The cottage is quaint and with the bunk room it was the perfect amount of space for our family and parents.

Relaxing Getaway

The perfect spot on the water with everything you need to relax. The house is clean and open and comfortable. The deck is perfect with hanging chairs to enjoy the views and a hot tub to relax at night. The area is quiet and away from it all.

Just Right!

A very nice cottage and a perfect size for my family! The bunkhouse was great for my three granddaughters and me. We LOVED the hot tub and the deck overlooking the lake. Had SO MUCH fun. Just a couple negatives- mattress in the smaller bedroom probably needs replacing, quite uncomfortable. We could not get the indoor fireplace to light.

Perfect Week

The Pine Lake Retreat was wonderful for the entire week we stayed there. The host Andrew was very nice and accommodating. The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our favorite meals. The hot tub was clean and very relaxing. The fishing was great and we caught some of the biggest bass right off the end of the doc. We would like stay at the cottage again in the near future. Thank You Andrew

family weekend

We had a great time hanging out at this house. My 3 sons 28-32, 2 grandkids 2 and under and 3 dogs. The lay out was great, and the bunk room worked out well. The lake was beautiful and they caught sever bass and Pike. The only suggestion I would make is to not have the plug in air- fresheners. The scent was too strong and bothered my allergies. ( it was easy enough to put them in the box on the deck for the weekend. ) My kids really liked the house and we hope we can make it back again.

What a Spectacular View!!!

Overall a wonderful weekend stay! Mom needs assistance walking and the kind neighbors allowed us to pull in closer to the home, so she could easily get inside! It was rainy but oh so beautiful! The hot tub was wonderful for the 20 minutes we were in it! We loved the deck and we used the three blankets left by the slider! Even opened the wine left for us! The host was very quick with answers to our questions. We enjoyed water color painting at the large dining room table and reading on the deck with blankets.

Cutest little home by the lake!

Had a great birthday weekend here with a couple of friends and my husband. The view from the deck is gorgeous and the fancy hot tub was definitely the highlight of our trip! Very comfortable little place with all of the homely comforts you need while away in a newly renovated and updated space. If you go with friends, make sure you’re comfortable all sharing a single bathroom and toilet cos that’s all there is. Beds were comfortable and there’s plenty of space to unpack and get organized. There is not much to do there other than relax, eat, drink and soak in the hot tub - which is exactly what we were after! Andrew and his wife were very responsive and helpful and even called to talk us through getting the fireplace going. Would LOVE to go back in summer.

Beautiful location but amenities are lacking

Beautiful location right on the lake. Unfortunately many of the amenities advertised do not work properly such as outdoor and indoor fireplaces and cable/internet. We also found the kitchen table cushions to be dirty. My concerns were brought to the attention of the owner& they said they were unaware. However looking back I do see previous reviews mentioning my same concerns that were not ever addressed. No one is ever doing a walk through of the property inside and out prior to guests staying here. We hope they fix the broken hot tub cover and the cracked pieces of wood holding the outdoor swings.

A wonderful lake and a nice place to stay. The bunk house has a TV but no service, so we brought a Fire Stick to let the kids watch TV.

Check in was a breeze. House needed a deep clean. bunk house has a smell that is obviously trying to be covered up. Cant lock the bunk house because there is no working lock on door. Had to leave doors unlocked in case kids needed to come in house. No working tv in bunkhouse. House had dirty linens in washing machine upon arival. Everything got wiped down because it was dirty. Dirt in kitchen drawers. Food still on the silverware. Food wedged in couch. Cheap 10 dollar trash can that was broke did not match layout. Pee stains on carpet in rooms. Bed needs replaced. Mattess had a rut/ indentation on the side i slept on. Outside fireplace worked but had to move the glass chunks in order to open flap to start. Hot tub lid was busted and scraped my daughters leg up. The swing fell with my other daughter in it one night. Sore back next day. Peir was busted up so had to be careful not to fall thru Beach was over grown with weeds. Picked the weeds myself to get a sendy area for kids. Kayack were dirty and needed cleaned up. Had straps broke on em. Rented boat wich was filthy. Had to be swapped out due to motor issues. Permanent neighbors on one side were ok but let barking dog out at 5 am a few times. Other side had actual owners there too for the week. They had 3 dogs and never put em on leashes. They would constantly bark and came over a few times. Overall had a good time under circumstances. Price of stay did not match what i was expecting. Very disappointed

The Recurring Retreat

My family and I just returned home from our 4th year staying at the Pine Lake Retreat! Just a few of the reasons I would like to highlight that keep us coming back.....We enjoy that the property is lakefront with all the amenities we need. Our kids love to play down at the waters edge where there is a sandy beach. It's also nice that the property is located within walking distance to the Pine Lake Grocery Store and the Pine Lake Marina. The property owners are incredibly responsive, accommodating and are dedicated to ensuring their guests have a fantastic stay. Any questions we've had or minor requests have always been addressed promptly. The property has always been thoroughly cleaned upon arrival and is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We cannot recommend this lake house highly enough. If you're looking for a clean, perfectly located, and wonderfully managed lakefront rental, look no further. We're already counting down the days until our next summer visit!

Fantastic customer care and location

We loved Pine Lake, property owners have a boat available to rent which they conveniently deliver right to the dock. The property was cute but a tad inconvenient for groups over 3-4.4 stars because it’s pricey, we couldn’t get the backyard fire pit to work even when using the printed instructions, the shower faucet and deck could use refreshing. There’s one bathroom, and there is a room separate from the house with bunk beds, this room wasn’t great overall. The air fresheners made everything that was in that room smell (not bad, just strong). Overall, cute place, we loved the hammock chairs and they the best hot tub, very comfortable.

Loved staying here - not suitable for mobility impaired

We really enjoyed staying here. Great view of the lake with kayaks and pontoon available for rent, nice deck with Blackstone grill, large fire table, hot tub, and plenty of seating. Bed and sectional were very comfortable; recliner section was catching, which we reported. House is nicely decorated, and we enjoyed the fireplace. We had no mosquitoes. Owner was quick to assist with questions. Overall, we had a very nice stay! Two potential changes i would recommend are redoing the staircase to get down to the house or incorporating a ramp and considering a generator to cover power outages. We lost power for about 36 hours due to tornado in Martin - obviously not a predictable issue, and we went to a hotel for a night so my husband could use his cpap to sleep. A generator would have spared us having to find a hotel. Even so, if our minor mobility issues don't get worse, I will likely look to book some time here next summer.
