Rooms are absolutely tiny and you can’t even walk between the end of the bed and the tv on the wall without shuffling past sideways. Good location and good cost too.

Free herbs make a relaxing environment

Self check in and check out is efficient. Get free herbs near the reception and put them in the room can relax during sleep. Various kinds of salad in the breakfast is delicious.

The staff speaks good english. Very easy communication. They provide bath salt at the lobby for a bathtub soak, which is very nice. Parking is the only issue. They have a partnership with a carpark nearby. But there are 2 carpark with the same name- Maruya 1 and Maruya 2. Unfortunately, i parked at the wrong one, and couldn't get the discounted rate. If driving, there are hotels with more convenient parking. But if travelling by train, this hotel is perfect.

When we checked into the room we noticed that the washroom was not fully cleaned. There was hair stuck on the wall and the sofa had disgusting amount of stains on it. However the beds were somewhat comfortable and the location is central and convenient. It’s pretty much self serving (no staff was helping to check in or out) so the staff didn’t really interact with us.

Really cramped, sorely needs under bed storage

Room is small as expected but not laid out well. No under bed storage is a serious deficiency so the only place to lay an open suitcase is in front of the door. Which means moving so I can jump over it to leave the room and moving it back when I want to get into the bathroom. Only a small bench is provided so there really isn't anywhere comfortable to sit, had to try to make do by propping pillows up on the bed. The TV is very awkwardly placed next to the head of the bed and it's bolted to the wall with no give so it's extremely difficult to access the HDMI port. Bathroom is the type with the raised slightly sloped floor so it was really a challenge to get in there with my suitcase there. Breakfast was good. Other hotels use the limited space more smartly, this one doesn't seem well laid out. Location is super convenient near a tram store and in the shopping arcade area, yet quiet.

Great location tram outside easy to get to most things can walk to most attractions in 30 minutes. Fantastic city really enjoyed it. Only issue with hotel is just one lift for all customers and staff so sometimes you have to wait awhile.

Amazing last minute booking after boarding the wrong ferry. Not as planned but couldn't ask for a more fun day or better accommodations. Truly fantastic value. Close to stopping and short drive to the ferry dock.

Brand new (refurbished?) hotel ideally located

Brand new or newly refurbished hotel very well located in Kagoshima. Overall great but having a single elevator for the whole building that is shared by customers and staff is simply not enough... And the aircon in our room was loud but it did not feel like it was blowing cool air. Other than that, it was a really great stay.

It is a nice and quiet hotel. However, the cleanliness, need to be improved. On the arrival, the toilet and floor were not properly clean. Also there was not enough toilet paper (of course it is ok that it wasn't new), however the two rolls were almost finishing... and during the next two days they didn't supply new toilet paper. (i used tissues that I had brought with me)... When I asked at the front desk, they seemed surprised... like if I were using it in an abnormal way or in excessive amount.
