Cute & Cozy! Julian Mt. cabin. Hiking, wineries, brewery. All season getaway.
YOUR STAY: This lovely family cabin is a perfect getaway for those who love nature. It is a beautiful spot, surrounded by trees. Only one mile from town, even less to a wonderful brewery and several great wineries. Enjoy your coffee or glass of delicious local wine from several seating areas. Both have the sound of water for your pleasure. There is a table and chairs and a waterfall pond. There are lights strung in the tree, making this a great place to BBQ on the gas grille, or just to enjoy the evening. There is a café table and the sound of a fountain with views of Vulcan Mountain. We often see birds, wild turkeys and deer on the property.
THE CABIN: Two bedroom, one bath with 1,200 square feet. Inside is a large living room with plenty of seating to enjoy a nice fire, watch Netflix, Prime or play some of the many board games on hand. The hand made coffee table has a built in checkers board. There is a dinning table for six and in the kitchen a table for four. The kitchen is fully stocked. There is a Keurig on the counter and a regular coffee maker in the cupboard. There is a four piece toaster and a small crock pot, as well as the normal pots and pans. We have a limited supply of coffee and tea for your enjoyment. The front bedroom has a King bed with comfy bedding and pillows. There are reading lights, phone charger and a ceiling fan for your convenience. The back bedroom includes a Queen and Double bed with the same comfy bedding. The bathroom has a combo tub/shower, basic toiletries included, and plush towels. The hall closet contains a variety of board and card games. Coloring books and crayons for the kids. There are even books if anyone wants to enjoy reading around the fire or outside under a tree.
WHAT TO DO: There are many wonderful restaurants, wineries, breweries and cideries around Julian. In the Info Book provided in the cabin, you will find lots of info and recommendations about them. There are some really cute coffee shops as well, and please don’t forget the famous apple pie as you are wandering around town enjoying the quaint stores filled with small town treasures. The hiking is amazing around Julian. Nearby, there are the Vulcan Mountain trailhead and Santa Ysabel East Preserve trailhead. A bit further are the hikes near Cuyamaca, including Stonewall Peak, and Laguna including Desert View Trail, and Big Laguna Trailhead. Julian is also a stop for some of the PCT hikers. Gold mining and gold mining tours are available. Julian is famous for their apples. Apple Days usually start in early fall where you can pick your own or buy from bins of all varieties. In early spring there are hills covered with daffodils and a bit later the lilacs fill the air with their beautiful fragrance. Julian is also certified as a Dark Skies Community and you will see plenty of stars in the night sky.
THE HISTORY: Our family has owned this cabin since 1939. Our Grandpa built it with lots of help from friends and family. It has been added on, redone and refurbished many times. It is filled with some of our family treasures for you to enjoy. We lovingly call it “Granny’s Cabin”, but you will find that it is filled with all the modern necessities.

What a great place to get away from the hustle n bustle. Didn’t want to leave, the cabin was so cozy and area was very quiet which was A++ in my book. Cabin had all the amenities you need for cooking and place was very clean. Definitely recommended .we will be definitely returning.
The cabin/house was nicely stocked with household items. Decorated cute for the theme of the house. Plenty of room for three adults and one child. It was a relaxing comfortable stay for the family.
We loved our stay here. The home was so cute and welcoming. We came for a work retreat and the owner was so accomodating with check in and check out times. We definitely will be returning.
The cabin had many items and features of the past with all the modern conveniences. The property had a place to sit outside and enjoy the trees and surroundings. It was a very relaxing place to stay and enjoy friends. And very close to Julian.
Loved the cabin, perfect for a stay in our San Diego moutains. Very peaceful but still close enough to everything fun. The cabin was cozy, and I loved the decor and especially the beds!
We are from San Diego and decided to get away for Thanksgiving. The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and meeting all the dogs. Romanos is a great restaurant.
This cabin was great for a family trip. Host Tammy was very attentive. The property was clean and a lot more spacious than the pictures show. We enjoyed sitting outside under the lights. Very close to town and hiking.
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed being at Granny’s Cabin! Everything was clean and there were plenty of amenities. We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of Julian, too! Perfect location! We would love to return sometime in the future!
We loved everything about Tammy's cabin! It was so cozy, beautifully decorated, and full of history. We really felt at home. The cabin is also perfectly located, in a quiet neighborhood just outside of the bustling main street in Julian. We were just minutes away from excellent hiking. We'd love to stay here again!
Our family stayed here for a weekend fishing trip to Lake Cuyamaca (about a 10 minute drive from the cabin). It was absolutely beautiful and so tranquil. Our family had everything we could ask for in terms of supplies and “at home” comforts in the cabin. The host was great and very responsive. We especially enjoyed sitting out in the patio area with the old California oaks and the other pretty trees throughout the yard. Make sure you go out and drink in the starry skies at night, too. Hope to stay again soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house just minutes from main street in Julian. Although the house is close to Julian, it is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The special vintage touches in decor along with modern comforts made us feel right at home. The Franklin cast iron stove was cozy and kept us warm. The mountain view, the trees, and quaint street were so lovely! The special family story of the early beginnings of the cabin to it's current state was heartwarming. Definitely created from family love!
We really enjoyed our time together! Everything you need is provided. The cottage is 1 mile from down town Julian. The beds are really comfortable and plenty of towels and blankets. We visited the town and ate apple pies and drank hard apple ciders! The weather was great and l took lots of pictures of the beautiful blue jays!
We had a great time is Tammy's beautiful home. It was a quiet weekend of relaxation. Enjoyed sitting outside by the fountain and eating in the kitchen with the beautiful views. Tammy is very sweet and easy to get a holds of. Thank you Tammy!
We stayed a couple of nights and this cabin was perfect.
Really close to downtown Julian, but in a quiet neighborhood. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We lounged a bit at the cabin and also went out and about to do some hiking. And it was perfect for both. We didn't need to reach out to the host very often - they had a notebook near the door with a lot of information in it. But for the few questions we had, Tammy was always quick to respond.
My daughter wanted to go to a cabin for a weekend, unplug, read and recharge for her 16th birthday. It has been a crazy year for our family so I jumped on this idea! The two of us left San Diego for 48 hours and this cabin was perfect!
It is so quaint, super clean and easy to navigate the hosts were amazing. We enjoyed the sounds of the water fountain while reading and had a fire while we watched a movie.
This is a perfect escape for a girls or family getaway. We will be back for sure.

Perfect for a DnD trip!
The property was gorgeous! Such a lovely cabin. The check in process was a bit unpleasant as the access code was never sent and communication was difficult, but once we got in contact, the host was very supportive and kind. It is even cuter than the pictures advertise! My friends and I used it to play DnD and during game play, a group of turkeys wandered by the window. It was a rocky start, but overall wonderful!
There's a reason that every review is a 10!The Host has taken great care to create a wonderful Home Away From Home. Your every need is accounted for and your stay will be epic!
We've been enjoying this sweet home for three years now. Its a great place for our friend group to gather while we craft and talk the night away. Tammy couldn't be a better host! Hoping to return next Fall.
