"The views are spectacular! The 4-star rating was for a couple omissions I missed in the listing. First, there is no A/C, which from my understanding now is common in this area. You are reliant on cross-ventilation from the windows, which was non-existent in a couple of the rooms. Secondly, the fireplace “room” really isn’t a room, but more of a den open to the kitchen. Finally, the bed upstairs has a taco mattress. Thankfully, one of our guests was unable to come of we would have been up a creek. All in all, we had a lovely stay. My 89-year old Dad loved listening to the geese each morning. I just wish we had known some of these things in advance. Now you do."

"Our family LOVED this stay. It was brand new, clean, stylish...my kids thought we had really "splurged" for the luxury hotel! We often stop in SLO or Paso Robles and this is our first time staying here. We will absolutely be back. Walking distance to restaurants and a market, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful outdoor pool, and friendly staff."

"Loved the bed. Was never able to connect to Wi-Fi in room 114. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work; oh, well. The housekeeping ladies were very gracious, as was the staff at the front desk. Expedia lists this hotel as having a restaurant attached. It does not. Expedia: "Dining space on-site A large restaurant space seats over 100 indoors, plus two patios for open-air meals." We were not there for amenities (though WiFi would have kept us in the rat race of the world.....oh, a week without WiFi---give it a try.) Aloha, JBSJB"

"Hotel was great, it was clean, coffee ready in the morning and breakfast was nice and hot. Room was really clean and spacious. We are definitely staying there again. Stores were super close by so that was a plus."

"Ane's place is absolutely stunning! The location is incredible, set in a canyon next to vineyards and orange groves providing ample privacy. You're a 5-minute drive from Avila Beach but because of the microclimate, can expect a few additional hours of sunshine and air temps 5 degrees warmer than at the beach. You're also a quick drive away from downtown SLO.The house itself is beautiful, modern, and spacious - great for a group. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is well-stocked for any cooking you might want to do. The outside spaces are idyllic with a wonderful large pool and hot tub and impeccably maintained landscaping.Ane is super communicative and a great host. The snacks and bottles of wine upon arrival were a thoughtful touch and she allowed us to check in early, which was super helpful. One thing to be aware of: the bunkhouse next door is occupied by a tenant - she is super friendly (introduced herself shortly after we checked in) and was virtually unnoticeable throughout the weekend. All-in-all, we loved our stay at this property and would come back again in a heartbeat!"
