não aluguel esse hotel por nenhum website ou app!

Não reservem esse hotel pelo Hoteis.com, eles alegam não receberem a reserva, mesmo você mostrando o voucher e alegando que está paga e feita. Fazem você pagar o dobro do preço lá na hora e depois não devolvem o seu dinheiro. Vi um depoimento aqui referente ao mesmo problema. Perdi um dia de viagem, sem contar a dor de cabeça e a acomodação ficou o dobro do preço. NÃO ALUGUEM POR AQUI.

nice place, in the nights a little noicy from the street but not all night. Staff very friendly and the restaurant was nice. The surraundings not so safe, but as known it is Johannesburg. Some restaurants very near, and taxi easy to use. We as a middle age couple not maybe the most usual, but we did not care. The room ok, but the "terrace" of the room not nice, it was dirty. Price-quality matches ok, if you dont want luxury.

The balcony was not a real balcony, it should be called open area instead. However, the staff were nice and made up for it. The location is right in the middle of the city centre, which is super convenient, but one should avoid walking alone in the dark.

Gute Unterkunft in Joburg im Studentenviertel

Wir haben hier gebucht da wir mir dem Schwesterhostel in Capetown sehr zufrieden waren. Das Hostel ist auch in Joburg relativ gut ausgestattet, modern und eher sauber. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Leider war aber die Bar/das Restaurant und auch die Dachterasse geschlossen. Und da Joburg nachts ja nicht gerade als sicher gilt, blieb uns nichts anderes als den Abend im Zimmer zu verbringen. Das Hostel hätte einen eigenen Kinosaal, wo aber nur an einem Abend ein Film gezeigt wurde. Die Stimmung wie im Once in Capetown, welches definitiv von der Bar lebt, wo auch viele Locals hinkommen, konnte aber so natürlich nicht aufkommen. Gut ist, dass man über einen kleinen Platz direkt gegenüber des Hostel 3 Restaurants zur Auswahl hat. So kann man gut auch zu Fuss was essen gehen. Die Umgebung ist das Studentenviertel der Stadt, daher hat es sehr viele junge Menschen unterwegs und wirkt eher etwas sicherer als das CBD. Zudem hält direkt vor der Tür der Hop-on Hop-off Bus mit welchem wir die Stadt erkundet haben.

Um bom lugar!

O hostel tem uma boa estrutura, é limpo, organizado e o quarto em que fiquei era bom, apesar da tv não estar com o controle funcionando e as cortinas do blackout serem bem velhas. O serviço de limpeza do quarto fez a organização bem feita. Sobre a equipe do hostel, só tenho a agradecer ao João Paulo ou melhor,Pablo. Era era o único funcionário que falava “portunhol” e me ajudou muito com o idioma, pois não falo inglês muito bem. Rapaz super educado e atencioso. Quanto aos demais funcionários, não fizeram muita questão de serem simpáticos, exceto dois rapazes que não me lembro os nomes e que também eram legais com os outros hóspedes. Os outros estavam sempre com ares de estressados ou chateados com tudo! O café da manhã é servido numa padaria bem próxima chamada Galata e é muito bom, os funcionários de lá são muito simpáticos. Gostei!

- very attentive staff - large and clean rooms (dorms cleaned daily) - comfortable beds with night light, plugs and two lockers - large shower with hot water and solid pressure - great location in easy walking distance to the train station and a large selection of eateries/supermarkets - tour booking desk - kitchen offers ample space to safely store food (both in fridges and individual food baskets) - lots of socializing possibilities Things I didn't like: - breakfast too limited for the price (coffee or juice, 1 apple, choice of either cornflakes, bran flakes or 1 croissant with jam) - coffee shops in the neighborhood offer better coffee and food for the same price - kitchen not well-equipped and usually dirty

Cooles Stadthotel mit kleinen Zimmern

Das Hotel versucht in der düsteren Jburg Gegend irgendwie auf cool und jungentlich zu machen. Es ist optisch auch gut gelungen, jedoch wirkte das Personal überfordert oder schlecht ausgebildet. Wir mussten für Checkin & Checkout jeweils zwischem 20-30‘ warten. Die Zimmer waren klein und das Bett war steinhart (wie teilweise in Afrika aber üblich). Insgesamt war der Eindruck eher mässig.

Watch the girls working in the restaurant

Two girls working at the restaurant lied to me about the costs of something. I paid extra for an egg and then was advised they didn't have the cheese for. When I changed my order I asked for the extra back which annoyed her. She reached in her pocket to get the 8 rand which was very odd as I thought that the money would or should have been in the cash register. Outside of that it's a decent place to stay with a lively nightlight.

Muito bom, apesar da localização!

Hostel bem grande, maior que o Once de Capetown e bem agradável. Ótima área de interação dos hóspedes, quarto compartilhado espaçoso e banheiro muito bom. O Café da manhã é bem simples e deixa a desejar. O wifi não funciona bem no quarto, só nas áreas comuns. Não gostei muito da localização. Durante o dia é tranquilo andar pelas redondezas, tomando um certo cuidado com os pertences, mas à noite não é indicado.

Close to Wits

There are three hotels close to Wits University, and none of them cuts it for a short visit. This one is in the best shape (rooms), but the breakfast is disappointing. Noise in the street can be a problem at weekends, but it is in walking distance to the university and Gautrain.

The hotel is very nice, lots of common areas, and it's the first time I stay in a clean decent shared room. The staff keeps the dorm as if it was a five-star hotel room. However, internet connection was so bad, it kept coming and going. Have to work on that to be a fully-recommended property.

worth a look up..

nice place and decent rooms even though the TV and Aircon wasn't working.. the weather saved the day for me!! Otherwise it is a good hotel.. felt unsafe at night but that maybe a Joburg thing.. Must mention Nandisa (Nands).. at the reception. Very warm person and doubles as the karaoke artist in the evening, what a voice!! The break fast is nice.. just right!!
