The location is prefect for a relaxing stay in a serene environment. The river and natural setting is was great. Hotel room a bit dated and will do with some refreshing. Staff were attentive and helpful.

Very peaceful stay - clean room, very well serviced in a picturesque location. We really liked the Glenburn
Glenburn Lodge is a lovely oasis not far from Johannesburg. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the rooms are spacious and clean. I also enjoyed the spa. Loved it here and give my highest recommendation.

It is all around three stars. Staff was very friendly. We had to move rooms due to a leaking Aircon and it was easily facilitated. Which takes me to the maintenance issues everywhere. It’s also too big for my liking so I would find it overwhelming if it had been booked but we went off-season mid-week. Breakfast was very good with loads of options. For dinner, the first night we only got to choose from the pub-type menu and - while the kitchen is skilled - the choice of food wasn’t for us. There was a set menu option the following evening but we were very late and didn’t try it. There’s also the ever-present smell on the whole property; like sewage and we’re not sure if it’s from the dirty river upstream. It’s mild but noticeable. They advertise hikes and you can access the Zwartkops mountain trail area. We did a hike and it must be noted that the walks are not maintained and even on the marked easy walks we had to climb over fallen rocks and there had been landslides and there are fallen trees to climb. We did happen to enjoy that but it’s a tough one. Also to note that the bit along the river smells very strong from the pollution from upstream squatter camps.
I was there for a wedding, accommodation was great and the surroundings are amazingly peaceful. It was a nice place for a weekend get away in a beautiful surrounding.
We had an amazing experience. The staff went all the way to assist and provided excellent service. The venue is peaceful and eco friendly. We couldn’t believe we were in Gauteng. The facilities were excellent.
The place is beautiful, breath taking scenery and clean rooms. I enjoyed the spa treatment more than anything. But the quality of the food was disappointing, as it wasn't fresh and was tasteless. The chef needs to do something about the food before I come back
The stay was most enjoyable, however i was charged a booking fee by Hotel. com which was not disclosed in the pricing. This is dishonest and i will never visit another hotel related to this group again, unless they refund the hidden online booking fee
We were there for our 10 year anniversary and have stayed in several places with in the cradle valley area including cradle moon which is directly opposite Glenburn So we know what to expect in the area, BUT Spiders are expected in bush type holiday yes but when the resort is over run by spiders where the webs are extremely well developed and old long standing, i counted 18 webs larger than myself in one garden area out side the room in a busy area not in wild bush, and on 1 web there were 31 adult golden orb spiders. There was toilet waste running down the path into the crocodile river with a stench that was unbearable, the food was overpriced for the quality served at the buffet. Ordering of the menu was better and cheaper. They offer mountain bikes as an activity which all 3 were barely ridable we took them out and didnt even make it to the mountain bike trail before having to return the bikes. This trip was by far the worst stay we have ever had. The staff were either really helpful or completely ignore you no in between. Simple thing like garden maintenance and controlling of the spiders not exterminating them but in main areas the webs should not be able to be developed which will force the spiders to move away from the actual living space.
Tap in the bath was broken so you had to pull rather than turn the tap for the water to go on. Toilet paper is a simple thing but terrible quality, Beds old and hard and pillows dont even fluff up anymore they so old. worst holiday.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
I was a little dissappointed with the accommodation, everything was clean but I found a cockcroach in our room.
WE had the buffet in the restaurant and it was fantastic. I am a vegetarian, and there was more than enough choices to satisfy my palate
Overall a very nice stay
The stay was enjoyable, facilities and staff were excellent. While there was a super choice of beverages in the room, there was no adaptor for the hairdryer in the room and no apparent connection to be seen. Perhaps staff could check on small things such as that.
