This is a designed to meet the needs of the customer. The staff work very hard to make you comfortable. Breakfast was great. I always felt safe there. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is risky, and you can't just go exploring

Nice place, clean, good shower but no wash cloths provided. Check in staff was excellent. Food was good at the restaurant but service was lacking. Server did not check on me the entire meal.

The room was comfortable and the staff was courteous. The food at the restaurant was very tasty. The restaurant did not always have everything on the menu. Later I figured out it is likely due to resource management. For instance 3 out of the 4 days we were there they didnt have drip coffee. This is likely because there were hardly any guests so they dont make a pot of coffee. However on a day they had an influx of guests, it magically appeared. Some basic items luke tuna sandwiches was not available though it on the menu. With minor adjustments they can guest experience better. We also pai cash for our meals. However when checking out, they gave us bills for 2 meals to be paid. We had to get restaurant staff come and verify that we in fact always paid cash. My adviceto guests would be to maintain your own copy of paid receipts if paying with cash. If you are using hotel approved taxi services, be aware that they change rates based on which staff member quotes you the price.. though the overall service was good at the hotel, i was disappointed with this inconsistentancy and felt we were being taken advantage of.

The staff were nice and I was even able to check in early, fantastic after a long flight. The entrance is gated which is for safety and I saw lots of hotels like that, but it made me uncomfortable about the safety of the area, but then I was told that’s what Johannesburg is like.

Very pleasant

We have a store at Newtown Junction which is adjacent to this new City Lodge Hotel. It couldn't be more convenient! Hotel staff were pleasant, efficient and welcoming. The bedroom was more than adequate - great shower! I would definitely stay here again.

The room was very modern and beautiful. It had that wow factor. Unfortunately, it was located in a difficult part of the city, so were advised not to venture out. Location is not great.

The staff was incredible. They were very knowledgeable about the area and have great advice. I used the Park Station which can be a bit of an issue and the area is a bit sketchy after dark.
