The best area to stay in Jilem is generally within the village centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the region's natural beauty.

Jilem is a small, traditional village, so the "centre" isn't a bustling city district but rather the cluster of homes, guesthouses, and a few local shops and eateries around the main square or church. It's a peaceful setting, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The surrounding landscape of rolling hills and forests is easily accessible from any point in the village.

For couples seeking a quiet and romantic escape, staying in a guesthouse or a renovated farmhouse within the village centre is perfect. You'll be within easy reach of gentle walking paths leading into the Vysocina countryside, and can enjoy evenings at a local pub. The pace of life here is slow, allowing for true relaxation.

Families will also find the village centre appealing due to its relaxed environment and accessibility to outdoor activities. Children can enjoy exploring the local trails, and the lack of heavy traffic makes it a pleasant area for walks.

The best time to visit Jilem is generally during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is mild and the natural scenery is at its most appealing.

During late spring, the countryside around Jilem bursts into bloom. The temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the rolling hills and forests of the Vysocina region. This period offers pleasant conditions for exploring the local villages and historical sites without the peak summer crowds.

Early autumn provides equally good weather, with crisp air and often sunny days. The changing colours of the leaves create a beautiful backdrop for walks and drives. It's an excellent time for those who appreciate scenic landscapes and prefer a more tranquil experience, as the summer holidaymakers have departed.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be warmer and busier, especially at local attractions.
