Clean and comfortable condo, but not ski in/out
The condo we rented was a Tamarack unit in North Hills, which are the furthest units from any lift. Overall the condo was very clean and the decor met all of our basic needs. The floors had a lot of creaking and you could easily hear people in the unit above running through their condo. The jacuzzi tub in the master bath was outstanding. The ski locker for each condo was a nice feature, though would have been nice to know before we checked in. Heat in our condo wasn't working properly the night of arrival. We didn't figure it out until the next morning. Maintenance personnel responded within 10 minutes of us calling and had the problem fixed by the time we arrived back after a day of skiing. The check-in/check-out process was a little vague and could use some tweaking so people know exactly what to do and where to do it. Unless you plan on parking at the main lodge to ski, you need to use the shuttle to get back and forth to any of the lifts. This can be problematic on busy weekends, as it can take 2-3 calls before someone answers the phone to arrange shuttle pickup. Once contacted the shuttles arrive quickly and get you anywhere you need to go. The hot tubs at the North Hills pool are inoperable and will not be fixed until the spring. If you want to use a hot tub you must go to one of the other pools or the Fun Zone. Plenty of very tasty food options at the resort if you don't care to cook or didn't bring food with you, though they are expensive for what you are getting. Be forewarned, if you plan on making meals to bring food with you, as the closest major grocery store is 30+ minutes away. There are a few places in town and at the resort to get food items, but they are limited in what they offer and are expensive. A couple of places to rent ski equipment less than 100 yards away from the main entrance to the resort. Less expensive and faster than renting through the resort. They do not have any high speed lifts at the resort. If you are looking to maximize the number of runs, go somewhere else. You will spend more time on the lifts than you will spend going down the trails here. Having said that, the snow is great and the terrain is varied. If you want to have a laid back relaxing day skiing with trails that will test your skills, this is the place to go, just don't expect to have too many runs each day.
