All of the staff were amazing, at breakfast they somehow sensed when I wanted some more tea! The food was really delicious, a great selection of curries (as well as western foods - although I stuck with the local fare). The hotel location was very central and made it easy to see some of the sites in the city centre (market, fort, old kachcheri etc.). If I was planning a trip to Jaffna in the future, I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Dec 2023. Family of 4. Rooms: clean, adequate space for 2 ppl in each room. Bed is hard for our liking though. Washroom: clean, enough hot water. Shower head was not fully functional but still enough to take a decent shower. Food: 5/5 no complaints. Staff: 5/5. Fitness area: small limited space. Pool: 5/5. Notes: I would request extra towel to put on washroom floor so its not too wet. Went during Christmas and didn't need to make any food reservations. Would request for level 4 or above room to get decent view of the skyline.

Overall this is a good hotel located closer to the Jaffna town and by the Jaffna railyway station. I took a small group with me this time for 3 nights and this was my second time this year. Hotel needs to improve maintance big time. I could not lock the balcony door due to the latch that was missing and the room was on the second floor so anyone could have easily got into the room by the tree branch which was touching the balcony. It was fixed on the same day but I was even wondering how the latch was missing in the first place and no one noticed. Also the service system which I can use to indicate 'do not disturb' wasnt working but maintanace did not fix it, due to that housekeeping cleaned my room daily even though I verbally instructed them not to. A few of my friends in my group exprienced the same. Beside these annoyances, the hotel has friendly staff. The chef made delicious breakfast every morning. I will definitly visit again.

Great place with very friendly staff! My wife and I stayed here in April of 2023 and really enjoyed it. The location is perfect for walking around Jaffna and they even have bicycles available for those who want to cycle. The breakfast and dinners were delicious. I would recommend staying here!

Centrally located and easy to get to. The hotel rooms are of a high standard compared to some others in the area. The food was good. Breakfast is a worthwhile option. Has an amazing crab curry with naan. The check-inprocess needs to be a bit more efficient. Overall can recommend it.

Good place to discover jaffna.
Very clean, good location. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff was nice. Jaffna is a great place to visit and we liked it that we could walk to the hotel from the train station after we arrived.

I was very impressed by this hotel - not only was it clean beyond measure (seriously, the housekeeping staff was impeccable!), but the rooms had a beautifully artistic touch to them (I loved the massive photograph of the beach built into the wall above the bed). The bathroom was also clean and modern, and always had hot water for showers! It also helped a lot to have front desk staff like Juckshan and Sakila who were always kind and welcoming, and made me feel super comfortable and extremely safe, which was important to me as a solo female traveller. The only thing where there could have been a slight improvement was the room service menu list, which was quite short. However, the hotel has a restaurant with great food- my suggestion to travellers who like to order room service is to ask the hotel to bring you a restaurant menu- I did this and after doing so, I was able to order many different and delicious foods to my room. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely return :)

very good stay.Nice clean,spacious rooms with balcony.very friendly staff. couple of complaints. No bar at the hotel and on one side of the hotel there is a heavy equipment maintenance work shop which is very unsightly and noisy during the day. i will stay again.

Great place to stay
It's rare that I take time to write reviews but this one deserves my time. It was a very pleasurable stay at Northgate Jetwing for several reasons: It's clean and convenient. But above all THE STAFF! They are extremely nice and professional. I know that it is their job to be nice and they get paid for that, but this is above that "required" line. I have traveled enough to know the difference between "job to be nice" and just be nice because it's the most human thing to do. And the staff falls to the latter. I must make a note about the restaurant staff and they are he best (also the food is fantastic). Highly recommend!

Faultless service.
Jetwing appear to place great importance on service and attention to detail. In this repeat they are faultless. Location is perfect for the train and handy for town centre . Not licensed , but the Valampuri right next door is and also they have great food at good prices . Jetwimgs buffet breakfast is excellent.

Very comfortable hotel to stay. Food was was good, We loved the Chilli Crabs Specially prepared for us. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only open one year, so still looking very new.

Slice of luxury in Jaffna
We booked this hotel for a small slice of luxury whilst in Jaffna. It is located right outside the train station which is perfect when travelling with bags. The restaurant was excellent, the pool lovely also. Staff very friendly and hotel very clean. Would definitely recommend.
