Loved the neighborhood of Belhaven, such a picturesque gem in Jackson. The property was cozy and perfect for our weekend and communication with the owners was easy and pleasant.
Perfect location for visiting parents of college kids that attend Belhaven or Millsaps Universities. Hosts were easy to communicate with and gave detailed instructions.

Very convenient location
We were attending an event at Belhaven, and this property is super convenient. Owners accommodated a late request from us which we greatly appreciated!
Great environment, small and intimate with every accommodation possible. What made this experience even more enjoyable was the Customer Service. (Great turn-around response time). Thank you.
Outside was not at all like the inside. Inside was suitable and comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Driveway was a little rough but it is in a historical neighborhood with some beautiful homes. Get place for a night or two!
Very good location for a variety of activities in the Jackson area, nice and quiet neighborhood. Property owner very responsive to inquiries and offering excellent recommendations.
Accommodations exactly as listed online, plenty of space for two (would not recommend for more than two, though).
Recommend the Multi-Use Trail (hike, run, bike), Cypress Swamp, Natchez Trace Parkway (bike), Petrified Forrest in Flora, Pizza Shack.

Wonderful place to stay!
We had a great stay here at The Nook while visiting our Belhaven University student. This place was comfortable and tidy and very conveniently located in a beautiful neighborhood. It has all the amenities we would want in a peaceful setting. Our only minor difficulty was getting out of the driveway, as our trailer hitch scraped the ground. But not a deal breaker. In the past, we've had a hard time finding a nearby place to stay when we visit our Belhaven student, but this place might be our answer. Thanks so much for a great landing spot!
My husband and I stayed at the Nook for 38 days. This was the first time we stayed in a VRBO property in the USA, and we were very pleased with our stay. We had an overall great experience.
The Pros:
-Communication with Jo, the property manager, was exceptional. Whenever we sent Jo a message, we received a reply within 3 minutes. We had a minor snafu with the lock and a few general questions. Jo responded quickly and ensured the issue was resolved.
-Checking in and out is so simple. We had easy-to-follow instructions for getting to the house. Jo's directions were comprehensive, yet simple, so checking in and out was easy.
-The location is absolutely amazing! The Nook is tucked away in Belhaven, which is in the midst of everything great about the tri-county area. Belhaven itself has several really nice restaurants, coffee shops, cultural activities, and a park. The community is also very walkable. Within 5 miles, there's Belhaven Heights, Fondren, Downtown Jackson, and Eastover, which offers such diverse entertainment and dining options.
-The Nook had everything we needed for a tiny home away from home. Actually, it's tiny but very spacious. The bedroom has a queen sized bed, a closet, and a dresser with a mirror. The living area had a sofa and a television. The kitchen had a side-by-side fridge/freezer, a stove with an oven, and a dishwasher, which came in handy. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. There's also a 2-seater table near the kitchen window.
-There is a bathroom/laundry room with a washer and dryer, which was great! There's also an iron and tabletop ironing board.
-The Nook has two covered parking spaces.
The Cons:
-There was always something flying or crawling, so we were spraying and swatting often. So many mosquitoes, gnats, and spiders were there. Even after we swept and sprayed inside, we still had bugs. I believe it's because there's so much foliage and so many trees surrounding the house.
General:
-The Nook is behind the main house. While we were there, a gentleman and his two sons were staying in the bigger house. It was no problem, though; they were very friendly and kind.
-Some of the streets in Belhaven are quite bumpy. (Thanks Yazoo City clay.) The City is working on them, though.
-We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jo is AMAZING! The Nook was a comfortable home away from home. The pics are accurate. A great place for couples!
This place was the perfect stop for us on our way through Jackson. The neighborhood is cozy and rich with historic homes that have been well preserved. Families were seen walking the streets, joggers and people walking dogs, a good little community. There’s a little park up the street where someone might take a dog to play fetch I would imagine and strewn throughout the area less the half a mile from the tiny home are some really cool eating establishments. Personally we are at Evie’s for breakfast and drove a little further up the road for BBQ at The Pig and Pint. Inside the home was clean and well stocked with things a weary traveler might need and access to (I can’t state enough being an avid drinker…) FRESH water from a Brita pitcher, love the crisp taste. The kitchen appeared to have everything you need to prepare a nice meal for two if that’s your thing and the living room was comfy. The bedroom has a cool descent and bed slept perfectly fine. The property as a whole is quite shaded so you I feel like you’re tucked away in the woods when you’re inside. Parking with the neighbors went smoothly; parking within the covered parking can be a wee bit tight if you’re not a good driver (my wife lol) but if you’ve driven in the city or know how to work angles you’re fine and there’s room enough to open doors and get things out of the vehicle. Overall this was the perfect place to be within striking distance of the interstate and plenty of good eating around. We wished we could’ve stayed longer to check out local spots more but there’s ALWAYS next time.
A comfy place with good amenities Steps to bedroom needs a hand rail, expecially because of the lip
Good location for my work, quiet neighborhood.

Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
The dirty nook
It was very unpleasant.
Dusty
Tables not wiped properly
Debris outside of the house
Roaches
Driveway had a bunch of potholes
Big stain on the corner couch
Water didn't drain properly from the sink
The floor wasn't done... no tile, no wood...
At the very least, it should have been spotless considering the amount of work needed to make it nice.

The property was very cute and warming, would definitely recommend! The communication was great with the property owners! I go to Jackson once a year for my daughters cheer competition and I’ll definitely be looking for this property again next year! Thanks so much!
We enjoyed our stay so much at The Nook. Small and cute, perfect for the two of us! It’s so peaceful viewing the wooded area around the house as we enjoyed our morning coffee! Very conveniently located for our purposes! Thank you!
Perfect for one or couple! Easy access to garage apartment. Enjoyed walking around beautiful old neighborhood and visiting the Eudora Welty House just around the corner.
OVER ALL THE SPACE WAS NICE. THE OUTSIDE APPEARANCE NEEDS LOTS OF TLC. GRASS WASN'T CUT, PAINT JOB NEEDED, REMOVE UNNECESSARY ITEMS NEAR IN THE OPEN GARAGE.
This was our first HomeAway experience, and it was great! The nook is a very comfy tiny home. The thoughtful decor is perfect for the space. I will gladly rebook when I’m back in Jackson.
My husband and I stayed at The Nook for 9 nights. It was the perfect spot for relaxing, cooking some meals, taking nice hot showers, and getting good nights sleep while in town visiting family and friends and sight seeing. It's central to pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. Communication with the manager Jo was excellent and she responded to our inquiries promptly. She was very professional yet sweet and kind. The historic Belhaven neighborhood The Nook is in is very pretty and safe. We highly recommend staying there and we will too when we're in town again!
We wanted to show our son the Mississippi Petrified Forest and the Mississippi Natural History Museum. He was in fossil heaven! This was the perfect home base for that purpose, near the Interstate and in a great cozy neighborhood.
My ONLY complaint was no reflection on the Nook itself. Our privacy was perfectly respected. The owners were SO nice about it all. Cool quirky little MIL cottage, perfect for a couple with one kid or even two small ones. The problem was the pothole laden roads of Jackson itself! You'd think roadwork would be a higher priority!! Particularly in such a beautiful historic district. Should the city address this, it would be perfect for visitors like us.
Enjoy your stay at the Nook too!

Liked: Cleanliness
Everything looked clean but the sofa had a musty smell. It’s a very nice area but because of the woods the bugs were an issue. There was a centipede crawling on the kitchen table and big ants going up the wall. ( I really hate bugs and get itchy when I see them) Otherwise everything was okay.

Very cozy home, perfect for two people.
I stayed with my partner and we both enjoyed all of the amenities that are available. Everything that we did during the week we stayed was within a short drive from the house. The owner always got back asap when we had questions and was very helpful. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again, given the chance!
