Other Things to Note:
What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

Wonderful

The property had not been cleaned by the time we arrived. After calling the property management they sent a cleaning crew. Instead of starting our celebration at 4pm it was after 7pm.
We did enjoy the time with all our kids and grandkids. It had been several years since we were together so to be able to celebrate our 50th anniversary with them all was amazing.
We took advantage of Yellowstone so close. We saw deer, elk, bison, and even a bear up close. The bear created a traffic jam but when it could move away it went right in front of our car. We got great pictures of it and other beautiful things.
Wonderful Christmas get away with family in perfect sized cabin! Every one of our children had a private bedroom for their little families which made it nice with little kids. The cabin was warm and comfortable especially on the days the temp dropped below 0!
Has a warm hot tub for those that want to experience being in the tub outside in a cold winter day. The kitchen was stocked with most everything we needed. There are some games to play and each of the bedrooms on the main and upper level have smart tvs with Netflix, etc.
The only drawback we had was that we had to clean it when we got there. It may have just been vacant for a while and hadn’t been cleaned just prior to our arrival. Also bathrooms do not come with soap in the showers and some do not have hand soap at the sinks.
Those were minor compared to the great experience we had!
Wonderful place to stay. We had 18 people and there was plenty of room. The cabin was clean and decorated cute. Plenty of towels plenty of area to park your vehicle’s. It was a really nice cabin. I would definitely stay there again.
A wonderful gathering spot ideally located for various activities. They need to do something about the drains in the main and upper tubs, but it met all of our needs and we loved out stay.
Upon arrival end of April, we were concerned with all the snow, but we were able to access the cabin easily. The dirt road and driveway were plowed. The house cabin was better than I had hoped. Wish we had a free day to just to hang out there, but we were busy in Yellowstone for 3 days. Loved the big dining table for our group of 10. Had a great time! Thank you.
The cabin was clean and nice. We we able to fit a pretty good size family for vacation without stepping on each other. Downstairs was perfect for the kids to play. The location was amazing only 40 minutes to West Yellowstone. Not much around for stores and the store that is there was always bare. The rooms on the main level unfortunately were load with the noises from the house and showers next to the bathroom. Beds in the main level are a little different to get in and out of due to how the beds are build.
Also no screens on the doors and the main window in the living area made for a lot of issues with mosquitoes since there was no ac we’d have to leave them open so we didn’t get to hot.
We enjoyed our stay at the property. Clean. Beautiful. Central location. Minor issues with internet, which was fixed, and hot tub worked only some of the time.
2 families (11 of us) got together for a week here, kids, teens and adults. The cabin was great!! More than enough room to spread out, sufficient kitchen space, loved having the grill and fire pit! The hot tub was down for a couple days of our trip which was disappointing but we enjoyed it when it was working. Views were awesome with a fox that trotted by with dinner every evening, beds were super comfortable. Slightly disappointed that there were no games or puzzles for the rainy day, and also that the guest book was full so we couldn’t sign it but overall we all loved this place!!!
We actually(3 of us) were not able to go because of Covid. We were 😔. The family that was able to go had a wonderful time and said the cabin was amazing! Very clean and comfortable. Only problem was the kitchen and main floor bath faucets were hard to get turned off. They said they had to play with them to get them to stay off
When we reached out for help prior to our stay, due to our father getting sick (he pays for the trip for our entire family reunion on his fixed budget). They took forever to respond back. It was several days in between emails to get a response back. When our father got really sick nobody wanted to go without him. He unfortunately passed away 4 days before our stay. When I asked if they would let us reschedule or if they could try and re rent it, they told us that they would try to re rent it and were willing to give our money back if they could or to let us re rent it at another time. We are now almost 12 days past the last email and they have yet to respond to let us know the outcome, even though we have reached out to them. At this point I think we are just out the money, because they have only ignored us.
It was perfect size for our family get together. In the entry way is approx 3 inch step up ,easy to trip over and you walk right onto uneven rock floor. Easy to trip . I would suggest that be replace with other flooring in front of the doors other than that it was great
The listing was exactly as described and we had a great time but this is the last time we will use Vrbo. Vrbo uses online bullies who encourage teenagers to commit suicide as spokespeople and we can’t support that. We will be using another service for our vacations in the future.
Property was clean throughout. There were plenty of room/beds for the group size we had. Enjoyed the place and the view!

Needs Transparency
First off, it needs to be advertised that there is no AC at the property. The upper level bedrooms get extremely warm and stuffy. Next, there is a small step when you enter the home that needs to be addressed. There is a 2 inch lift from floor to floor and if not seen can be extremely problematic. One of our families broke their foot because of it. Literally happened on the first day of our 6 day vacation.
Outside of those two things, the property is great. Great location. Beautiful scenery. Great horseback riding business nearby that also offers many other fun activities. Downstairs basement stays cool and has a great family room down there to hang out and relax in. Each bedroom (there are 6) provides enough privacy and space. Kitchen is great and has a plethora of accessories.
