Wonderful stay!
The village is off the beaten track and perfect for relaxation. Be prepared for a winding one lane road up the mountain.

Wonderful place, beautiful apartment
We had a wonderful time during our stay in Isenthal. Renate was very helpful and went out of her way to make sure everything went well for us. The area is so beautiful that you don't have to go far. There are hikes everywhere and always a picturesque view. Not many people from America have visited and there is some cultural shock and language problems to overcome but, it is well worth the effort. The little store is well stocked but not open on Sunday or some days after 11:30AM so you should arrive stocked with supplies you will need until it does open. You won't want to go back down to town after your first drive up. We arrived when the fields were being harvested for hay. It is amazing to watch hills that slope 45 degrees being harvested and bailed. Lucerne was an easy drive and is a beautiful city to visit for a day. It was then so nice to retreat from all the tourist to the peace of the countryside in Isenthal. I highly recommend this property. And Renate was a great hostess.

Fantastic Holiday
The property was lovely, very clean with everything you could want. Easy place to find and the hosts were great and very informative about the area. We were asked for nay improvements we thought that might be needed, but couldn't think of anything, but on getting home the only thing we can think of is access to a washing machine. Isenthal was beautiful, we were a family of four and we did several lovely walks from the property, but it was also very handy for trips to other places like Lucerne and Engelberg. We did loads and really had a great time. Isenthal has a small shop with everything you need and its easy to shop at other places that you visit. As said the location is great the hosts were really friendly and helpful and the property was really nice too. Certainly a place to recommend for any other families or other people

Window on a Village.
After a nail biting trip up the mountain, we arrived to a very friendly warm welcome from our hostess. The house faces the church and the steep pastures across the valley. We were surrounded by farm life. Cutting the hay and raking, including the use of scythes and pitchforks, the six cows living next door, and their friend....the cat. We loved our time watching the village life unfold from our spacious verandah, always something happening to keep us entertained. There are many beautiful walks in the Alps and Lake Lucerne is quite close. The house has everything to make you comfortable, and Renate was a wonderful and friendly source of information, on anything we asked. We had a wonderful week .

Rest, Enjoy, Relax
This home offered so much in both comfort and scenery. We are so grateful for the visit! I can’t wait to come back again and am hoping to come in the summer. It was centrally located in the very small town of Isenthal which provided both the feeling of getting away while still having access to some modern comforts. We cooked almost every meal in the apartment and enjoyed our time to enjoy the surroundings and relax. It was beautiful and the host was so gracious. Our daughter loved her time breathing in the clean air of Isenthal. I can’t wait to visit this home again!

Storybook perfect!
My husband & I arrived after dark. Renate was nice enough to wait up for us. She was very gracious and showed us everything in the apartment. The apartment was warm, cozy, very clean, & had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. So we got to wake up to the most amazingly beautiful & most majestic place we had ever visited. The morning was cold with clear blue skies against white capped mountains. It was absolutely breathtaking! We just sat there drinking our morning coffee staring out the window at the mountains and all the beautiful homes as well as a beautiful Church right across the street. We couldn't wait to get out and explore, so everyday we hiked around the village as far as we could walk. We don't ski but we saw a ski lift and a lot of skiers going up and coming down the mountain. There is a bank with an ATM for cash, there is also a cute little store with everything we needed to cook breakfast, lunch, & dinner. There are a couple restaurants in the village and we had dinner out one night. On the last day we drove down to Lucerne and all the other little villages along the way sightseeing and stopping at a restaurant for dessert & coffee. It was a vacation of a lifetime! I didn't really know what I was booking when I booked this gem, I just liked the Swiss look of the house and the fact that you are in a valley surrounded by mountains. We are from Tennessee in the USA and we have beautiful mountains here as well. But this was different. I'm so glad that I chose Isenthal, Switzerland. I feel like it is a hidden little village in a mountain that everyone needs to experience. Renate and her children are precious and she did her best to understand two Americans with a southern accent. I highly recommend this village in Isenthal and I highly recommend staying at this lovely home. Warm Regards, Jill & Todd Schrock Kingston, Tennessee USA

BREATHTAKING!!
My wife and I stayed four nights at this lovely apartment. The review will be in three parts. 1. HOST: Renate was a wonderful host, she was friendly, very informative and available. She was very knowledgeable about Isenthal and surrounding area. She gave us great tips on tourist activities, local restaurants, and local transportation. 2. THE APARTMENT: Located right in the center of the village, This is a ground floor apartment with a very large living, sleeping, kitchen area with all amenities including free WI-FI. The bathroom was clean and modern. There is also a second bedroom with a bunk bed. Outside there is a nice patio to relax and enjoy the surrounding panorama. There's a free parking lot located less than a minute from the apartment. Also, there is a bus stop located less than a minute away. 3. OVERALL: We fell in love with Isenthal (population around 500), it is such a beautiful village located in the Swiss mountains. The village atmosphere is so relaxed and peaceful, a true getaway from all the fast paced noises of city life. If you want to enjoy nature, this is the place to visit. A true hidden gem. Angelo & Donna P.S. Enjoy the road to Isenthal.
