About this property
Handcrafted Log Cabin | Hot Tub | Sauna | GameRoom
Picture this: morning coffee on the deck, 10 private acres of UP forest out every window. The ORV trails are a few miles down the road. The waterfalls are 20 minutes out. Lake Superior is close enough for a late afternoon run. Come back to a cedar sauna, a private hot tub, and a fire pit that goes as long as you want. This is Timber Haus — a handcrafted log cabin in Ironwood built for a vacation you wont forget.
Soaring vaulted ceilings, hand-hewn log walls, and warmth that makes you forget anything waiting back home. This is a house you actually want to be in — not just sleep in.
THE LIVING ROOM — The great room anchors everything: deep sofas, and a wide-open flow to the dining area and kitchen. It's the kind of space where no one retreats to their room because there's no reason to leave.
THE KITCHEN — Fully stocked for 14 guests. Butcher block island, custom cabinetry, espresso machine, full-size refrigerator and freezer, electric stove, oven, dishwasher, blender, wine glasses, and every pot, pan, and utensil you could need. Coffee, tea, and sweeteners are stocked and waiting on arrival.
THE BEDROOMS — King (Bedroom 1) · Two doubles (Bedroom 2) · Queen + two doubles (Bedroom 3) · Double flex bed in the lower level living room for overflow. All beds are made with soft linens, extra pillows, and blankets. Walk-in closet and dresser storage available.
THE CEDAR SAUNA — A true Finnish-style dry heat cedar sauna. Best thing about it: it's waiting when you get back. Guests mention it in nearly every review.
THE HOT TUB — Private, steps from the back door, surrounded by open fields and wooded acres. After a full day on the trails, there's nowhere better to end up.
THE GAME ROOM — Foosball, air hockey, and a full second living space. Kids disappear here for hours. Adults usually follow.
THE OUTDOORS — Fire pit, outdoor furniture, charcoal BBQ grill, outdoor dining area, and 10 private acres of forest. Space to decompress after a long day out.
LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY
Timber Haus is in Ironwood, Michigan — one of the best-positioned towns in the UP for OHV riding, waterfall chasing, and serious outdoor recreation.
ATV & SIDE-BY-SIDE TRAILS — Trail 2 runs just a few miles from the cabin and is accessible directly from the property. Gogebic County (MI) and Iron County (WI) together offer 500+ miles of designated ORV routes through Ottawa National Forest. Free trail maps at the Ottawa National Forest office on US 2, 5 minutes away.
BLACK RIVER HARBOR & FALLS (20 min) — Five waterfalls through old-growth forest to a sandy Lake Superior beach. Best hike in the area.
LAKE SUPERIOR (20 min) — Agate hunting, paddleboarding, kayaking, or just a rocky shoreline with nothing but horizon.
PORCUPINE MOUNTAINS STATE PARK (45 min) — 60,000+ acres, Lake of the Clouds overlook, 90+ miles of hiking trails.
COPPER PEAK (10 min) — Open summers for chairlift rides with one of the best views in the Midwest.
DOWNTOWN IRONWOOD (5 min) — Restaurants, a craft brewery, and coffee before your next ride.
WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR
Timber Haus was built for groups that want shared experiences, not just shared sleeping arrangements.
ATV & SIDE-BY-SIDE CREWS — 500+ miles of ORV trails 5 minutes away. Pull your trailer in, park it on-site, ride all day, come back to a cedar sauna and a hot tub. This is what the cabin was made for.
FAMILIES WITH KIDS — Multiple bedrooms, a game room, board games, and pack-n-play. Every age is covered. Kids won't be bored. Parents won't be stressed.
MULTI-FAMILY RETREATS — Bedrooms for everyone's own space, communal rooms you'll actually use, and a kitchen built for real meals with a real group.
HIKERS & LAKE SUPERIOR EXPLORERS — Waterfalls, agates, Porcupine Mountains. Everything worth seeing is within 45 minutes.

This was our second time in Ironwood and staying at the Hannu Haus. Great place to stay with our family and close proximity to Ironwood and Mt.Zion. Very easy booking and check-in process. Would highly recommend!
Great location to ski hills and waterfall hikes. Everything you need for an amazing Up North adventure. The sauna, large kitchen, and living ro sectional were my favs!
We enjoyed this quiet cabin for our extended family. The kids were able to play baseball outside, enjoy s’mores around the fire, and plenty of space to park our ATVs and ride directly from the house. 1000% recommend!
We had a great time and would definitely go back! The cabin is furnished very well, has high-end finishes, and we were impressed with all the well thought-out details. The gourmet coffee maker is a nice touch, along with the outdoor hot tub and sauna. We were there just before Christmas and got to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. Highly recommend this amazing log cabin!
We loved our 4day stay at the Hannu house. The home was well equipped and very clean. It was close to powder horn and snow river where we skied. Our kids loved the upstairs bedrooms and the master bed was very comfortable. We made good use of the hot tub after skiing and had some family foosball games at night. We would definitely stay again! Jake was very responsive to all our questions as well. Thank you!
We had such a wonderful couple days of peaceful serenity while staying at the Hannu Haus. There were do many special touches to the decor that added to the warmth & coziness of the log cabin. It had plenty of space to entertain and well thought out ideas for keeping children occupied.
The coffee bar was exceptionally awesome and we all enjoyed the great coffee beverages that the Jura made!!
I would give the Hannu -Hause 10 stars!! We hope to come back again!!
The house and property has a quiet and peaceful feel. I knew from the pictures that the house would be cool but I was surprised at how wonderfully it was situated. There's a full wrap around deck, a large mowed field, with a perfectly framed mountain in the background. I thought the road might be busy or it wouldn't feel secluded but I was wrong on both counts. It's a perfect location to explore everything in this area.
We enjoyed our stay. We came to ski but not a lot of snow, so it was nice to be able to hangout at the cabin. Never used the sauna or the basement for that matter but lots of room to spread out. The third bedroom has three beds but would be better suited for kids. We had 4 adults and very comfortable. Hot tub was nice and coffee maker was great to have. We would come back.
My husband and I rented this house for a relaxing birthday weekend away from MN and thoroughly enjoyed the spacious, beautiful log cabin house with a hot tub off the master suites bedroom that was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!
We choose this charming cabin for our weekend sxs trip. This home was everything we needed. So quiet and comfortable. We are already planning a return visit later this year!
We loved it here. The views were great, the property was very polished and clean. We enjoyed all the ammeninties including but not limited to the hot tub, sauna, fireplace, air hockey, foosball, spacious bedrooms and multiple bathrooms. We envision bring family here some day soon.
Beautiful cabin. Great location. Large yard for children to play. Our family enjoyed our stay. Each family with us had their own bedroom and bathroom. Host was very polite and responded quickly to any questions. Host was also very accommodating to our families needs. Traveled with small children and we arrived a little early to town and host made it possible for us to arrive at the cabin a little early. Checkin and check out process very easy as well. Would highly recommend this cabin and location.
We love the Hannu house. This is our second year staying and we will be back again. Jake was wonderful to work with. The home is a perfect cabin for our ski trip and 5minutes from powderhorn and 20 from snow river. Very clean and well appointed kitchen. The coffee and hot chocolate stations in the kitchen were great amenities. The master bedroom and bath room are lovely. Comfortable beds. The downstairs is perfect hangout for kids with foosball and air hockey. The sauna and hot tub felt great after a long day of skiing! Thanks for a great stay!
The pictures don’t show off the sauna or the awesome hot tub! It was so worth the money! Having a yard to play, basketball hoop to play, and the coffee machine was amazing. It was super enjoyable!
Hannu house was amazing. The details and decor are so fun we were constantly discovering new little details. Everything was incredible and everything was exactly what we hoped for. We loved making fancy coffee in the morning before heading out skiing and returning back at the end of the day, the kids played in the basement, we had wonderful family meals, and enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. The beds were SO comfortable and the kids absolutely loved the bunk room.
Did NOT a want to leave, and can’t wait to make a trip back!!

Nice but needs some cleaning/repairs.
Beautiful area. House had many original characteristics. Was not as clean as we had expected and some items needed repair. Property manager was receptive to feedback. We checked out one day early as property was not as expected but we did get a refund for the third night.
