"Over the top doesn't begin to rate this property....everything we expected and soooo much more! Our hosts were VERY accommodating. We will DEFINITELY be coming back next year. A 5 out 0f 5 rating is a bit low in our books....I prefer to rate as I TRULY see things. This was a belated birthday present from me to m foe my 68th . "We had a fantastic week - Aileen was a great host - her thoughtfulness, hospitality and attention to detail were clear from the moment we arrived! "We chose this location by proximity to the lake. It was clean and well appointed and did not disappoint (other than we didn’t catch any fish). Home was well stocked with necessity item including cookware which was important for us as we cooked our own meals. It also had dishwasher and detergent along with washer and dryer and laundry soap. It was a quiet peaceful location and I would definitely stay there again!"

"Beautifully located on Lake Ainsley. Steep walk down to shoreline, shallow entrance to the lake, perfect to use waders for fishing. Had lots of fun fishing in this lake and in the Whycocomagh area only 15min away.Tranquile and private setting. Lots of apples trees lining the driveway and mature birch, poplars and maple trees. Rabbits and many birds came to visit :)"

"I rented the Cabin to have some solitude, peace and quiet. It was all of that. The cabin is clean, quaint, beautiful, and set up really nice. The view of the lake from the Cabin and front porch is spectacular. You have all need for cooking and place settings. I would make one suggestion, is to place a microwave if possible? "A group of us wanted to plan a ski get away in Cape Breton after all of our snow! Only 10 minutes from the hill, we had a fabulous stay at John & Anne’s place. The house is a unique style with stunning ocean views. The house had all the amenities you would need. Communication was quick and easy. We will definitely plan another trip back. "We had a lovely stay in this rustic Cape Breton cottage! The building itself is quite old, and shows its character. It was good for three people, but would be tight for a family or larger group. There's no direct beach access, but it's a 2 minute drive away (or less), and the water was beautiful. Note that any major shopping or necessities will have to be gotten in Sydney, about half an hour away, so plan for that. We appreciated Laura's communication throughout our stay, and the very detailed...

"If you like to be secluded then this is the place..Beautiful setting with the water right there. The house came fully equipped, except fans because of no air and a regular coffee maker, but we made it work..We would of enjoyed the outdoors more but Mother nature had other plans. "This was a great adventure. It might not be for everyone but it sure was for us. There is a bit of a hike to the yurt, which made for a peaceful and secluded stay. Andrea and Clay greeted us and showed us around the place which was beautiful. There is a river right out the door that we swam in, and the yurt was so cozy inside."

"Great place and location. Included golf was excellent. Hard to just go for a walk from the property as it was a busy road but in town for walk wasn’t far to drive. Baddeck had everything you needed and the whole Cabot Trail was there to explore as well. Unfortunate that we had Hurricane Lee come through and the weather was not stellar but made the most of it and it could have been much worse if we were in the direct Hurricane path."
