For those over 60, there are sudden steps up and down in and out of the house that need to be watched out for, but we loved being very close to the National Park and feeling separated from the rush of town life."

"We’ve stayed at some pretty nice vacation houses, but this place takes the cake. It’s set right on the border of Joshua Tree National Park, with no close neighbors and our back yard looks like a park itself. I basically chose this location after seeing the pictures of the pool surrounded by massive rocks. The owner Dale gave us a great tour when we arrived showing us all the history, artwork and personal artifacts that decorate the house. Definitely not your average white washed vacation rental. He really put his heart and soul into this place. Every room is full of character, painted in tones of orange and plum with baroque decor. Definitely the perfect place to relax and recharge."

"My husband and I enjoyed a recent stay at the Skelton house. It felt secluded with a fabulous patio view of the sunrise and also great for stargazing. Perfect location near the north entrance to Joshua Tree NP. After long days of hiking the spacious bathroom was luxurious and relaxing. Surround sound in main room was excellent and we enjoyed screen-casting our pictures from the day. Full kitchen was perfect for morning breakfast and packing lunches for a day hiking in the park.
