This area is the heart of Ingria, offering a true taste of local life. You'll find charming, traditional stone houses, many with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Soana River. The Piazza del Municipio is a natural gathering spot, often hosting local events and providing access to the village's small shops and eateries. It's a compact and walkable area, superb for exploring on foot.

Couples looking for a peaceful and romantic escape will find the main village ideal. The quiet streets, the sound of the river, and the dramatic mountain scenery provide a superb backdrop for relaxation. You can enjoy leisurely strolls, discover hidden pathways, and savour meals at local trattorias, all within a short walk from your accommodation.

For those seeking an active holiday, the main village also serves as an excellent base for hiking and exploring the Gran Paradiso National Park. Numerous trails start directly from or near the village, ranging from gentle riverside walks to more challenging mountain paths.

The best time to visit Ingria is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically from May to June and September to October, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.

These periods offer comfortable temperatures, ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or exploring the Gran Paradiso National Park, which is a major draw for visitors to Ingria. You'll find the mountain trails accessible and the natural surroundings at their most beautiful, with lush greenery in spring and vibrant colours in autumn.

For those looking to avoid larger crowds and enjoy a more tranquil experience, late spring provides a lovely opportunity to see the local flora in bloom. Similarly, early autumn offers crisp air and stunning views as the leaves begin to change, which is great for active travellers or those who appreciate photography.
