The property was everything we expected and more. The sounds of the river and view of the wildlife and mountains made this place so special. It was so relaxing.
This is a great getaway for a couple. Just enough room for two and the view from the cabin or from the hot tub is great. Cell service is a bit spotty but was able to still get some phone calls in. Great movie selection if you feel like just having a night in too. Great communication with the owner/manager too.
This was such a quaint, peaceful, and beautiful property! It was close to plenty of trails and little towns to explore; we even found a local swimming hole! Such a great way to spend our first wedding anniversary!
Perfect location to privately unwind. Certainly cannot beat the views! Host answered immediately and was always helpful and went above and beyond. Highly recommend this magical spot for a romantic getaway
Cute little place right on the river. Great location to get to hiking and snowshoeing. Eagles on the river every morning. All the things in the kitchen that we needed to cook. Would recommend and would return for another visit.
A favorite location as this was the second year staying here. Between the mountains, river, hot tub and a-frame cabin charm you'll feel removed from the hustle and bustle. Fabulous hosts in a fabulous location!
What a magical place to stay. It’s a cute and well-appointed a-frame, next to a crystal clear rushing river and close to hiking trails. The host was helpful and very responsive! We’d love to return.
Just like the description saw lots of wild life and the river noise was the only thing you heard at night and the view is a perfect representation of eastern/western washington
The location of the property was absolutely stunning. Being situated next to the river provide a serene and tranquil atmosphere that was relaxing. The peaceful and quiet surroundings, combined with a well maintained property and beautiful outdoor space, made a memorable and relaxing getaway. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and serene getaway.
My husband and I are always looking for time away to just relax and enjoy time together, and after the last three days we are already looking forward to going back.
Your cabin is just what we needed; thank you for letting us stay in your little skice of heaven
We
The a frame is great for a secluded getaway, we had camp fires and hung out in the hot tub. So close to great hiking trails, the adorable town of index and the insta famous espresso chalet. 10/10 would recommend!
My husband and I went to this cozy cabin for our honeymoon, and it was perfect! The location was unbeatable, with the hot tub being the perfect addition in the cold. We went hiking, snowshoeing, and to Leavenworth one day as well. Loved the well stocked kitchen, and VHS player. Would come back again!
This cozy A-Frame was in a great location but still near other people which made me more comfortable. The views and hot tub were great. We drove over to leavenworth for 1 day and it was a nice time. We brought games and just relaxed. My only problem was I didnt want to come back to reality at the end of our stay.
Cozy piece of paradise. Enjoyed our stay on the river with mountain views. This cozy A frame has all the essentials for someone wanting a get away from the hustle of a city but are still close to the convenience of a city.... sleeping accommodations on second floor has a spiral staircase that is far better than a ladder but can be challenging for a large guy of 250 or more like my husband, but sleeping with the upstair window open listening to the river made up for his challenge. We loved our stay and reccomend.
Most of the reviews really cover how beautiful this place is. But I really feel like they undersell the huge hot tub with a great view. We didn’t miss WiFi or cell service one bit. The dvd collection was especially impressive and nostalgic. Don’t forget to rewind!
My wife and I booked a long weekend trip to ski Steven's Pass and found this place to stay. It was perfect and my wife did not want to leave. We relaxed in the hot tub watching the snow fall, river, and fire we built. It was a nice disconnect from the normal world. We ate at Good Brewing and North Fork Restaurant which were both great! We could come back and stay again. Only complaint is that we arrived and the cabin was 41 degrees and took along time to warm up and never really did get to the desired temperatures so I would recommend requesting the host to turn on the heat before you get there.
I stayed here and the property is great, being right next to the river was amazing. A Frame was very comfortable. Had some trouble keeping hottub at temperature. There are times I could get a cell signal but most times not, I didn't mind it so much. The toilet is a little tricky, it has no pressure so it would sometimes flush, other times not. Overall a wonderful adventure.
We had such a fantastic stay at this little cabin. The river is so unbelievably beautiful. We had breakfast every morning out on the porch, and even walked out on the stones to have coffee right next to be the water one morning. The location can't be beat for nature, though the neighborhood is run down. It's an old mountain community that is obviously home to some long time residents.
This is definitely a "tiny house" type stay with an extra narrow spiral staircase to get to the loft for the bed, but the view directly from your bed is 10/10. The hot tub is a little old, some of the jets don't work. But it heats up well and is still great for enjoying the stars! Our only complaint was that the toilet is verrryyy slow draining and required plunging alot. The shower is extremely small (like an old RV).
If you're looking for fancy, this may not be the cabin for you. If you're looking for a laid back stay in best mountain location, access to the river, and close *amazing* hikes - this is the one.
Chris and Kate's A-Frame cabin was amazing! Perfect getaway for my wife and I for our honeymoon. The Cabin is very compact but its just the right size for a couple looking to unplug. We had no wifi or service out here unless we went into town just down the road so it was really refreshing to turn everything off and ignore the world for the week. At first we were worried about that since we didn't know the area but Index is really easy to navigate. Every day we would make breakfast and eat outside looking over the river at the mountains, take some time for prayer and then go on one of the many nearby hikes. At the end of the day we would eat dinner at one of the local restaurants and come back to take a dip in the hottub and then watch one of the VHS movies stocked in the cabin. It was nice to know we had neighbors in case we needed anything, but the property itself is surrounded by trees so there's plenty of privacy. A refreshing escape into nature! I think the only downsides are that the stairs up to the bed are a bit precarious and there's no laundry. But everything else was great! We've already begun to wonder if we'll come back to rent the same cabin again sometime :)
This A-frame cabin on the river won't disappoint, if you're looking for peace and quiet; to feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle of life. The cabin is situated in a way that makes you feel as though no-one is around, yet there are neighbors on either side, just out of site. We spent time exploring the riverbank, hot tubbing, overlooked the river and mountains while enjoying our morning coffee and gazing at the stars in the evenings. We enjoyed making meals in the kitchen and watching movies from the extensive moving selection. Waking each morning in the loft up the spiral staircase, felt surreal as you sit up from the bed and see the river flowing. The locals are so kind, the restaurants in the area have great selections, and the cabin is only an hour from Leavenworth; which if you've never been we highly recommend making the hour long drive. There are also several hikes just minutes away from the cabin, like Bridal Vail Falls; which we hiked and Lake serene. If you enjoy hiking these need to be on your list. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and the best 3-night stay as our Christmas gift to one another instead of materialist items. Chris and Katie; the hosts are so kind and hospitable, you can tell they love their property and being hosts. We would absolutely stay here again.
