Excellent Hotel. Hotel is relatively new with spacious rooms, communal kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Guests are encouraged to share these very attractive spaces in line with their needs. No meals are offered but the next door market offers a basic breakfast that is quite adequate for about $5 (AUD). Also there is a Lawson’s next to the market that has the usual range of food and drinks. The Fairfield staff were so friendly and caring! They made us feel very welcome and attended to all our...

It's convenient to have free shuttle to and from the station. Even it's out of the shuttle bus service hours, we could hop on a taxi and travel to amd from station for free.
Staff members are kind and helpful.
The dinner and breakfast were enjoyable.
Highlight was the onsen which was relaxing.
The room was quiet and neat.
Value for money. Would recommend the hotel.

Our traditional Japanese room was very clean and the futons were comfortable. The onsen here was very nice and relaxing - an indoor and outdoor bath was available. It was a good location, right near the Gero train station.

We chose this hotel because Takayama was full (float festival) and only one hour away by rail. The hotel was big and mainly used by Japanese clients. Our bathroom only had a toilet and basin so we were forced to use the onsen. This is highly recommended. Our room was fine otherwise and just across the river from the rail station. Recommended.
