This hotel is crazy good. The price is very nice and the room is spacious. Sleeping on tatami is comfortable and a good experience. The hotel provides free public bath (I think it provides special sea hot springs). Sand bath is also wonderful ($1500 yen).
What I liked about the hotel was that it had its own sand covering experience because Kagoshima is known for this experience but usually at another location.
The thing that I didn’t like was the fact that the bathtub water faucet was leaking water and making the bathtub dirty. Also if you are not use to sleeping on tatami style bedding it’s going to be hard to get a good sleep.
Truly enjoyed my stay in this hotel! I enjoyed the onsen and the sand bath! It was very convenient to have these in the hotel! The breakfast was also good to have and delicious! Most importantly, I truly enjoyed the tea Fiona’s Japanese room! Roomy and so comfortable! Thank you!
I understand Ibusuki might no be the most go tourist destination, and they night not have the attendance they wanted to renovate the hotel which is really outdated... but it seems like the hotel had no maintenance for a long time, it was probably a great hotel 30 years ago, but now it's almost considered a abandoned hotel.
Bath is great though! But the maintenance of the hotel and rooms are needed urgently
