Clean modern cabin in an isolated setting yet close enough to Husavik and Myvatn lake. I have an interest in farming and tending animals in the unique setting of iceland. The owners went out of their way to answer all my questions about their sheep farm, the cost of energy, and more. Very welcoming and friendly people.

This guesthouse was one we stayed at for 2 days. I would highly recommend you stay here multiple days. It is a drive from Myvatn and it is so worth it for the lovely property and friendly owner! after battling the tourist crowds at every attraction, this is the piece and quiet you want to relax!

Well worth the drive. Excellent value for money
Nice quiet valley, cabin is fully equiped. Fridge, microwave, hot plate, kettle, utencils/plates/bowls and more. Great stay, we returned after our island circle tour was complete. In the top three of our stays in Iceland, we were touring for 25 days.

Nice small modern cabin. Very comfortable. I would definitely stay again. To get to the location you have to travel on a long gravel road so make sure you have 4WD if going in the winter time.

Valley Beauty
This was such a fun place to stay. We took a dirt road through a valley to get to these cabins on a family farm. It was so nice to be removed from the main road and enjoy the beauty of the valley. Waking up there were sheep all around which just embodies Iceland. The owners were very friendly and the room has a kitchenette. Took us 30-40 min to get to Húsavík for breakfast so it was a pretty easy drive into that city.

What is unique is the isolation deep in a valley, a stunningly beautiful valley. The access to the "driveway" is an F-Road, meaning in Iceland very rough, rutted, slippy gravel and narrow. Quite treacherous. The access road is about 4km, and the remainder of the road directly into the farmyard is another 7-8km. Pretty scary and not good for 2-wheel vehicles. Also, the host apparently does not wish to give out her phone number--only email, and she does not answer every email, perhaps not even checking messages once a day. If there were some sort of emergency, it is difficult to imagine how it would be handled quickly.

Fantastic place with peace and quiet
This was one of my favorite places in all of Iceland. The location is stunning, quiet and peaceful. The dog on site (pela) was the cutest friendliest Dog ever and walked us to our room. The cabins are clean and private with kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful place to stay near myvatn or husavik!

Hidden Gem
It is a wonderful small hideaway outside of Husavik. The owners give suggestions on downloading a nee application to assist with finding the place. Do It! Google Maps will not get you there.

The cabins take some effort to get to but it’s worth it. Great away from everything location. The cabins have everything you need and the owners provide perfect directions. Don’t let the road hold you back, it’s a pretty smooth dirt road for the most part. You’ll get visited by the owners pup!

Amazing place!!
Amazing experience and exactly what we were looking for. Clean rooms and toilet. Mini kitchen for cooking. We saw the Aurora on 2 nights (a bit faint but got photos with our camera) Area nice and quiet with plenty of sheep. We finally got a sheep photo;

Was a great little cabin, with a kitchenette, stove top, small fridge, hot water heater, toaster. A deck to sit outside, where we saw the aurora both nights, and though faint, they were spectacular. The owners are very sweet, nice people. On the owners advice, we went to Dettifoss waterfalls and it was a great day (we hit multiple falls on the way to and from) and also went Whale watching in Husavik. All said, this stop was a highlight of our honeymoon.

Beautiful cabin
The host was very quick to respond and was helpful. The space was comfortable, clean, and stylish. We had a good nights sleep. Beautiful view of the sunset. The property is on their farm, and although the drive in and out of the valley which it is located is pretty, if you are short on time, this is a bit of a detour from the Ring Road.

Très joli guesthouse au milieu de la nature
Le studio est très bien aménagé, tout est propre et très joli. Un petit bémol pour l emplacement: la Guesthouse se trouve en pleine nature à 40 minutes de husavik, au bout d un chemin de terre de 13 kms. Je pense qu il est important de le savoir

Super schön eingerichtete Unterkunft mit freundlichen Gastgebern inkl. verschmuster älterer Hündin, welche einen als erste begrüsst. Die Unterkunft verfügt über alles, was man sich wünscht. Die Grundausstattung, v.a. auch der Küche, ist sehr grosszügig (Gewürze/Öl/Essig, Toaster, Wasserkocher, Töpfe & Pfannen, franz. Kaffeemaschine).

Das kleine Häuschen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es war sehr sauber und die Küche ist klein, aber gut ausgestattet. Am allerbesten hat uns aber die traumhafte Landschaf gefallen, zwischen Bergen, Bach und Schafen.

Esta super lejos, bastante más, muchísimo más de lo que se dice, tardamos hora y media desde el lago Myvatn. Es interminable el camino allí y las indicaciones son incorrectas, para nada merece la pena ir hasta allí, ojalá hubiera sabido yo esto, me deje guiar por las opiniones que había leído y ahora no las creo.

Hi Javier, we are regret that your stay was not worth your while. Shortest way from lake myvatn to our cabins are 40-60 minutes depends on how fast you drive and traffic. Hopefully you enjoyed your stay in Iceland.

Flott hytte
Komfortable hytter, avsidesliggende til i et dalføre, nord for Laugar. Ligger på en gård med sauehold. Det siste stykket går på grusvei. da vi var der hadde det regnet kraftig over flere dager og veiene hadde vært enklere å komme seg frem på med en 4wd med høy klaring, da vår lille leiebil nesten ristet i stykker. Men veldig flott bare man kom frem. Gode senger, rent og pent. Kokeplater, vannkoker og brødrister, samt micro. Ikke stekeovn. Flott utsikt mot dalen og elva. Vi hadde ikke telefondekning og Wi-Fi er svak, så dette er stedet for deg som klarer å legge fra deg mobilen:) Fine turmuligheter rett ute for døren. Samt fiske-elv.

Ein wunderbares Kleinod zwischen Húsavík + Myvatn
Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Laxardalur Cabin im Juli sehr genossen. Das Bett war absolut großartig und die Wohnung mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen kurzen oder längeren Aufenthalt braucht. Die Besitzer haben sich auf jeden Fall sehr viele Gedanken über die Einrichtung gemacht, das merkt man spätestens bei den aufwändig gestalteten Verdunklungs-Jalousien und der gut ausgestatteten Küchenzeile. Die Lage hat uns besonders gut gefallen, beim Frühstück haben wir den Schafen zugehört, die auf dem Hügel direkt hinter dem Haus grasten und am Abend konnten wir bei einem Glas Wein auf der eigenen Terrasse Vögel beobachten. Man ist von dort wirklich schnell in Husavik oder in Myvatn. Die Straße zur Cabin ist etwas holperig, aber kein Problem, auch ohne 4x4. Landschaftlich gibt es auf dem Weg eh so viel zu sehen, dass man gerne langsamer fährt. Absolute Empfehlung!
