Friendly staff really make the difference, and being literally in the middle of Ypres you are close to everything - 3 minute walk to the Menin Gate, surrounded by restaurants, bars and some incredible history. "You get what you pay for, the Ritz it certainly isn’t. Basic, I had an en-suite room and that was small, certainly wouldn’t swing a cat in it. Sink had no plug, it was the design, had to leave the water running. There was a strong smell of cannabis from inside the hotel. It served a purpose."
