We rented for a small, family-only wedding. It was absolutely beautiful. The place was clean, had all the accommodations we could ask for, including a full, well-supplied kitchen and comfortable beds. The views were outstanding. It was nice to just hang out on the deck and inside in the family room. Big dining room table made our dining with the large group great. They even have a fenced in area for dogs! There's a nice hiking path on the property that takes you to an even more spectacular view. It's also close to other activities.
We had an amazing experience staying here. The views from the house and the deck were absolutely stunning. Everything was so cozy, the beds were really comfortable and there was plenty of space for hanging out and relaxing. The decorations are very thoughtful and inviting and there was no lack anywhere, everything we needed for function and fun were provided for from movies and games to every kitchen appliance and tool. Our kids are already asking when we can return! Our host was available to answer our questions, told us about the local area and things to do nearby and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.
We had an incredible stay here with our family of four, along with a couple of friends who joined us. The home was spotless—truly felt like a 5-star hotel, but with the comfort and space of a private house. The views were absolutely stunning, and it’s easy to see why this area is known for its consistently beautiful weather—it made the whole experience even better. One of the highlights was how much there was to explore right from the property. Our kids loved adventuring in the huge open quarry up the road, hiking the private road to the secluded box canyon, and exploring the historic ghost town of Calcite on the property—such unique experiences.Inside, the home was just as thoughtfully set up. There were plenty of toys and games that kept our kids happily entertained, and the kitchen had everything we needed to comfortably prepare meals during our stay.We also took a trip into Salida and spent time at the riverside park, which was a great outing and an easy complement to all the exploring back at the house. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place with plenty of outdoor adventure, this is it. We’d absolutely stay here again.
Absolutely gorgeous views in a peaceful secluded home not far from Salida. Wonderful vacation spot that I highly recommend! From the outside the home didn't look like much, but inside it was beautiful and so much more spacious than it first seemed. We had multiple families with kids, but never felt cramped. We had rain the first day and enjoyed the fireplace and games. The second night was beautiful so we actually set up tents in the magnificent quarry on property and slept peacefully under the stars. It was fun to walk through the historic remnants of a former mining town right there next to the home! Stunning hikes without even needing to drive anywhere, but a short trip down to Salida provided a day of fun along the river. The homeowner living on property was so nice and helpful when we needed him, but we never intrusive. I'm sure there are other nice places to stay in the area, but we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
