Haus Orplid - Historic thatched-roof house in Hörnum for up to 10 people

The Orplid House is one of the oldest buildings in Hörnum—over 100 years old and steeped in history.
Situated on the dunes, centrally located in town yet pleasantly quiet, it offers a wonderful view and a very special atmosphere under its thatched roof.

With about 150 m² of living space spread over two levels, it is generously laid out and ideal for families of up to 10 people. The furnishings are simple and traditional, yet well-maintained and cosy—not modern design, but a home with character and plenty of warmth.

On the ground floor, you’ll find a living room with a fireplace, a separate dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet. The bright sunroom is particularly lovely; it opens directly onto the patio—equipped with two beach chairs, perfect for relaxing.

On the upper floor, there are three additional bedrooms: a small room with a single bed, a larger room with a bunk bed and an extra single bed, and the master bedroom with a double bed. There is also another bathroom with a shower here.

The two parking spaces are convenient (one at ground level right next to the house), and a washing machine and dryer are also available—though the dryer is only available in the summer.

This thatched-roof house is not a new construction—rather, it’s a piece of Hörnum’s history that offers you an authentic, cosy stay in a unique location. The house is rather simply furnished—but that is precisely what gives it its special character and charm.

House Orplid is available for booking between Easter and October 13 each year. In winter, however, it’s available only upon request.
