This is a wonderful historic hotel. Don't expect Hilton crispness, doors are older, lock and key, tempo rental hot water, but simply old school and charming. Lines and bedding were crisp and clean. Very old town but what a building, almost two hundred years old.
Hotel Wayne is a very charming hotel with a very homy feel. It’s got a very comfortable little restaurant and bar downstairs. It’s one of the oldest buildings in the town and has a lot of history to it, including some ghost apparently. It doesn’t have the most modern amenities and conveniences, but it’s clean and well-maintained and in the best possible location close to everything downtown.
Despite quirks like having to turn the TV on by pushing a button on the back of the TV, having to control the room temperature by twisting a knob on a baseboard heater, and having to be very careful in adjusting the shower water temperature because the temperature jumps or drops very quickly with just a slight twist of the knob, I would still much prefer to stay here then I would at some bland corporate cookie cutter hotel.
We stay here when visiting family in the area - it is old, quaint and unique - we get a kick out of the entire experience - the bar and restaurant downstairs is great! Always an easy process in and out.

I love the old building and the proximity to restaurants and shops. The mattress was old and had a big swoop in it.
The room was very clean, no odor, bed and pillows were comfy. Staff were accommodating and kind. The bistro/restaurant has AMAZING food. I mean really, really tasty food. Honestly, I have NO idea why people would complain about this hotel. It is a historic hotel and almost 200 years old. I think you'd have to be a half-brained nitwit to expect it to be modern looking inside. As for the ghosts....I didn't get to see or hear any while we visited. I stayed in Rm 207. I would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel, love the history. Excellent location, within walking distance of many places.

Courteous staff, plenty of space in the room. We were a little cold. The heat didn't seem to keep up in the 2-bedroom suite, the apartment clean other than the shower (mildew stains). The neighbors were noisy until around 9pm. The only thing I wish I knew prior were the number of stairs to get to the unit (at least 10). If my husband was with us, it wouldn't have been possible to stay there.
This was the first time returning to my home town and stayed in a hotel as well as my first visit to the Hotel Wayne.
The hotel is a historic building and as such does not have an elevator; however, it does have a beautiful wide staircase. I found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The Hotel Wayne has has its own restaurant and bar for your relaxation. The bartender, Maggie, was wonderful as were Shelby and Mel. Thank you ladies for allowing me to spend time with you! I miss you already...
My room was large, well appointed and clean. It over looked Main Street and the star on Irving Cliff. This was a welcome perspective.
If you are looking for a historic place and don't mind not having all of the frills, I highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Wayne.

Aging Beauty needs Love
An historic hotel that once had Abraham Lincoln as a guest, is in need of some TLC and renovations to restore it to its former glory. Our room was clean, good linens but room walls, flooring, bathroom fixtures and overall finishes are worn and need a serious overhaul.
I love hotel Wayne for its historical character, its distance to everything honesdale, and having the restaurant & bar downstairs with Paulies food directly behind it. The 2 bedroom apartment is over the wine room which is nice since it’s a private (and only 1 ) stairway. While there’s limited hotel accommodations, this one will give you everything you need. I will always upgrade from the standard room (which I’ve stayed in - there’s a reason for upgrading !)
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Wayne very much. Our food/bar service was great, the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The food was delicious.

It was like walking back in time...the craftmanship of the pub and dining area is original. Staff was very friendly. And it is pet friendly as well.
We enjoyed our several stays at the Wayne Hotel. The restaurant and bar was very good and the staff very friendly. It makes it so convenient when you arrive as we drove miles to get there. It's nice to have that restaurant/bar in the hotel. The rooms were clean and roomy for an older hotel.
This is a quaint, histoical hotel. I loved the real keys, the restaurant's atmosphere and the food was awesome. The toilet in our room kept running, but in fairness, i didn't inform anyone. I loved the artwork, the woodwork and the atmosphere of the hotel. I would stay there again
