"The Uig Hotel was such a treat! Great view from its perch above the harbor, you could watch the ferry come and go from port. The meal in the dining room was wonderful as was the hearty breakfast in the morning. Staff were fantastic communicators from Isle of Skye to the U.S. when I had questions they emailed immediately back with responses. So friendly. Really great stay! "

"This was a beautiful rural property with lots of character. the road in was a single lane road with lots of potholes, but once entering the property the driveway was great with easy parking. rooms were large on a courtyard configuration. On site restaurant served excellent food and staff was outstanding . The complimentary continental breakfast was awesome and a lot more then we have experienced in other establishments. An outstanding stay and will highly recommend."

Macaulay Cottage, Grosebay, Isle of Harris

Great cottage, great location.

"We loved Macaulay cottage - it’s in a great location for visiting the many wonderful beaches and bays on Harris. The cottage has everything you need and the owners are really helpful. It was a great place to return to after a day out. Some of the well known walks (Scholars path and coffin trail) start from the cottage or nearby. We enjoyed kayaking with seals in the the bay by the cottage. "

"After following Lorraine’s wonderful directions we made our way to Willie McLeod’s Croft. Everything anyone could need has been thought of. We stopped at the coop on our way so we were able to make meals after exploring Skye. We met Alan who graciously told us about his dogs and sheep :-). We needed some time away from noise and found it. Lorraine and family have done fabulous and loving work to keep the feel of the Croft while renovating it. We had a great getaway. "
