Beautiful OCEANFRONT FOUR BEDROOM house is perfect location to host memories for a lifetime. Nestled on a premium stretch of beach dotted with private homes, this three story gem has fantastic views from both upper and lower decks.

Perfect location for an EXTENDED WINTER VACATION, Contact us for special rates for rentals for 2 or more weeks.

Bottom floor has double enclosed garage and entry. First floor has open living and kitchen area with wall of windows looking out on sparkling waters. First floor access to the kitchen and living area is a feature MANY oceanfront homes don't offer. You don't realize how nice it is until you don't have to walk up three flights of stairs every time you go from the beach to the living area. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are oceanfront. Bedroom doors open to expansive deck that has 180 degree view of Atlantic. Free Wi-Fi throughout..

For infants, a pack-and-play, and a high chair are available to use. Bed linen and towels are not provided. Rental options on the island are available.

See the sunrise from your pillow. Watch for the pods of dolphin that run in the early morning and late afternoon. Fresh seafood can be purchased on a daily basis from the local fishermen who bring their hauls in and sell them at the market 3 miles away. Walk for miles in either direction on the beach. Look for prehistoric sharks' teeth and shells. The sound is just a walk away and provides amazing sunset panoramas.

The towns of Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington( international airport) are less than an hour away.

The only drawback to this house is that you'll never want to leave.

Super convenient access to water

We’ve been visiting Topsail for years as most people do. With our kids getting old enough to surf and swim completely unattended this place is fantastic. There was plenty of space to keep all our boards in the garage or under the deck. The easy access to the ocean and the view from inside the house was incredible. I loved being able to just walk out and surf anytime the waves cleaned up.

Beach weekend

This was a great house for an over 50 guys weekend. Bedrooms were comfortable. The covered deck looking out over the beach was awesome. Perfect location.

We were very lucky and had perfect weather! Staying on the beach was so nice and my family members and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This house had everything we needed. We would stay here again and appreciate the memories created.

Perfect Family Trip

Lovely Stay

What a treat to have an entire house! Kitchen and living space on first floor makes all the difference. Loved having 3 of the 4 bedrooms ocean facing! Leaning towards booking this one again.

The view to die for!

Perfect home for family and friends. Lots of space inside, an enclosed garage, and a beautiful view and access to ocean just steps away. Everything was comfortable and temperature control was perfect.

Another Splendid Beach Vacation

Our family group had a wonderful time at Escape Hatch. The layout makes excellent use of all space and it is quite comfortable. Being right on the beach is so much fun! We appreciate all the beach and kitchen equipment available for guests. Some is getting past its prime, but there’s plenty to choose from. We will definitely return if we can!

Absolutely love the location of this property. Paul is a great host and I'm constant contact during the impending storm. He have is all the information and checked on us frequently. Luckily we were barely impacted and had another wonderful family vacation.

Thanksgiving

The property is in a great location with ample space. Rooms were spacious and furnished well. We just had two minor comments - the stove top runs very hot. The upstairs shower/tub combo only has water for tub - the shower did not work. We had a very nice relaxing holiday and would rent the house again. Also, I have already recommended the place to a friend.

We love Escape Hatch!

This is our second year staying at Escape Hatch. Me and a group of girlfriends take a beach break every year. The location is perfect, beachfront living! Paul was very diligent throughout the rental process while there. We had a hiccup with the AC that was a new unit issue and Paul stayed on top of it and had the repair company there quickly! We will be back again next year!!!

Great Family Escape

This was our 3rd stay at Escape Hatch and we have truly enjoyed each visit! Paul is a great host and his vacation home is absolutely wonderful! We love the layout of the house - it is very spacious and comfortable. Having the living area on the first floor is definitely a plus and the views of the ocean from both the living area and the upstairs bedrooms are amazing! We enjoy using both decks and being only steps from the beach is simply fantastic (especially with toddlers)! Our family beach trips to Escape Hatch has become one of our favorite weeks of the year and we are very grateful to the Graupners for making it available!

Escape to the beach!

The location was fantastic! 1 flight of stairs to the beach. We have never been this close! We loved the spacious area by the sliding door. Plenty of space to beach bags and belongings. Kitchen had everything you needed ie containers silverware cups dishes etc. The layout is great having a bathroom on the main level and the laundry room! We enjoyed sitting on the decks and hearing the ocean! Plan on staying again!

A great escape hatch

Great location, beach was very nice. Had some broken glass on the floors in the living room, that was missed by the cleaners. Kitchen pans could use an update, as previous renters didn’t wash them very good. Overall, we had a great time. Recommended.

Another Great Stay!

We just finished another great stay at Escape Hatch! We had 3 adults and 3 kids, with plenty of space for everyone. The bunk bed room is perfect for kids and the other 3 bedrooms each have a great view of the beach and ocean. Check-in and check-out were easy and Paul is very responsive. Instructions/details provided ahead of time are easy to understand and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, and cookware. Even with the chillier weather, we enjoyed walking along the beach and drinking hot chocolate on the deck. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Escape Hatch Review

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Escape Hatch! Our large family gathering was made even more special thanks to the great layout and inviting atmosphere of the home. The main living area is perfect for hosting, featuring a spacious dining table for shared meals and a cozy living room with plenty of comfortable seating for everyone to relax and connect.The dual decks and Ocean views were a highlight—we spent many hours enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery. The house is filled with natural light and has an open, airy feel that made it great to spend time in.The beach is both beautiful and accessible. We had a blast playing cornhole, surfing, and soaking up the sun. The bedrooms are generously sized, and three of them open directly onto the upper deck, offering ocean views and it is great for evening stargazing.The location on the island is ideal and is a quick drive to nearby shops and essentials. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We left with great memories, and we would absolutely love to return to this property in the future.

Love this property!

We agree with all the previous positive reviews - this is a wonderful vacation home! It is very comfortable and the ocean views are unparalleled throughout the house. We love the layout of such a spacious living area being on the main floor with the bedrooms upstairs and we particularly enjoyed both decks overlooking the water. Of course, the fact that you are literally steps from the sand is such an amazing feature and makes it so much easier to enjoy all the beach has to offer (especially w/toddlers!) Our hosts, Paul & Sharon, are very accessible and responsive to any questions sent their way. We are very grateful to them for sharing their vacation home and giving others the opportunity to enjoy such a beautiful stretch of coastline! Overall, we had a wonderful week and are already planning another stay!

Delightful days in Surf City

Our family spent 4 nights and 3 days at Escape Hatch. We found the property to be just as described. The home was clean and the kitchen was well appointed with every gadget a cook could imagine. The beach is literally steps away and there are plenty of toys and chairs to take to the beach. My only complaints are minor but can affect one’s stay - there were 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 bathrooms. We thankfully brought extra. 3 trash bags were provided - we bought and left a box for the next renters. All in all, we found this property to be comfortable. Surf City is a delightful vacation spot and Escape Hatch was a lovely home.
