Rivermouth on Kingston Beach is a two bedroom apartment that has been architecturally redesigned to embrace waterfront views from all rooms. Situated directly opposite the mouth of the River Derwent and the beautiful Kingston Beach, our deck opens directly onto the Beach with floor to ceiling double glazing, allowing you to be part of the coastline experience.The design of the apartment builds on the waterfront views, with the living room / kitchen area remodelled, resulting in a compact bathroom and smaller main bedroom.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms (one with Queen bed and second with 2 single beds). There is one compact bathroom with a shower (no bath).
The balcony, living area and main bedroom overlook Kingston Beach.
The apartment is in an ideal location. It is situated 10 minutes from the centre of Hobart and Salamanca. Mt Wellington, Bruny Island and the southern Tasmanian wilderness are also in close proximity as well as the food and wine experiences of the Huon Valley.
Rivermouth is immaculately clean, comfortable and warm. The apartment is fully self-contained boasting a contemporary kitchen with an induction cooktop, stone bench tops and fully equipped kitchen and laundry. The bathroom is new and good quality linen and towels are provided. The bedrooms are equipped with one queen and 2 single beds. There is a portacot available and a highchair available on request.
There is Wi-Fi via NBN, with a smart TV featuring a range of streaming sites including Netfix, ABC IView and SBSOnDemand.
There is secure off street parking available at the rear of the complex along with a security keypad entry system from the parking lot to the rear of the building. The apartment also has a keypad entry system at the front door allowing guests to not bother with key collection and return. Access to the apartment is up 2 flights of stairs from the rear car park entrance.
A great feature of the apartment including the view and proximity of all major tourist sites is the simple ambience of the sound of the ocean waves as you sleep, and the east facing views across the river out to the Iron Pot and Storm Bay.
There are a number of coastline walks just minutes from the apartment - Boronia Beach along the southern headland and the Allum Cliffs walk along the northern headland, both spectacular walks providing an stunning view of the river. There is also a great selection of restaurants and cafes immediately downstairs, including the newly renovated Salty Dog Hotel, a new style of hotel designed and managed by MONA employees - another great option for guests to experience the wonderful tastes and styles of our food and art renaissance that is happening in this state.
There are many cafes and restaurants nearby including the newly refurbished Salty Dog (and Frosty Dog) Hotel, BoHo Cafe and Robbie Brown, among others. Plenty of eateries to chose from.
Bruny Island Ferry is a 20 minute drive south and Mt Wellington/kunanyi another 20 minutes up to the Mountain.

We had a great stay. Location excellent and so lovely to hear the waves. Very well equipped and supplied apartment, having come on a plane with little luggage. Loved the beach and coffee shops etc and close proximity of Hobart.
We really enjoyed our stay in this sunny bright apartment with wonderful ocean views. It is situated on the beachfront and a short walk to everything. Spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.
If you’re looking for a lovely place to stay and near the beach, look no further!! The apartment has everything you need, easy check in, cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby, lovely walks along the beach and sitting on your Balcony watching the world go by is just the best.

Great apartment in the perfect location for enjoying the beach, watching beach volleyball and sunny-siders, and to simply enjoy the atmosphere of the eateries on main street.Fabulous 2-week stay with the benefit of laundry and kitchen facilities and most importantly, a second bedroom for 17-year-old to have space. We shall return!
The moment you open the door you are greated by a spectacular view of Kingston Beach. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises were a delight. We had everything we needed. Mark was a great host. I have already booked a 2nd stay.
We came to relax and use Kingston as a base however we found ourselves coming back each afternoon to simply relax and take in the view and ambience that was Kingston Beach
The Salty Dog lured us over with its live music and the food there was delish!

Perfect location! Really enjoyed the river view and proximity to the beach. Close to Boronia Beach walk and Allum Cliffs walk which we did during this stay. We attended the local eateries, all a short walk away. We utilised the bus as the stop was just across the road. The unit was well appointed, we had everything we needed including laundry powder!!! Beds were comfortable and warm. Hope we can stay again at Rivermouth.
We had such a lovely stay. Great location and a very comfortable apartment. The view from the apartment is exactly as the photos suggest, there are good dining options at the bottom of the apartment building and very close by. The owners responded quickly to messages and provided clear, easy to follow information
Fantastic apartment literally across the road from Kingston Beach. If you have access to a car when you are in Hobart, I wouldn't hesitate staying here. Highly recommended and we would love to come again.
The property is exactly as shown in the photos with sensational views. Very comfortable bed and furniture. Clean, with enough of everything to last our 7 day stay. Good quality linen, appliances and cooking tools which was a real bonus when Tasmania has such great produce to cook with. Perfectly located to explore the southern corner of Tasmania. We were even treated to snow on the beach one morning (the first time in 30 years).

Excellent location, terrific property
We could not have asked for better accommodation. Our family of four stayed for a week, and found that this property was ideally located - great cafes just downstairs, beauty salon nearby for those looking for a treat, and supermarkets just down the road. We did a lot of driving in the week we stayed - easy access to Hobart city, Bruny Island ferry, MONA, Cadbury's factory, Huon Valley, Mount Wellington, etc.
Lovely, quiet beach with a charming village atmosphere - perfect for families. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable, and very clean. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
