We had a lovely time in Hobart. The house provided a great base for adventures in our hire car and a lovely retreat and resting place when we got tired. We were particularly impressed with the practical layout of the house with good sized rooms, bathrooms, the living space and bonus rumpus room. It was immaculately clean with a well equipped kitchen for self catering. There was good grocery shopping in walking distance and all the main local attractions were accessible in a short car ride. We were there with our two children and mum in law.

We stayed for 4 nights in April and the house was immaculate and as advertised. We had 3 adults traveling and there was plenty of space for us all in the big rooms. The kitchen was well appointed and had the basic essentials for anything you wanted too cook. Added bonus is the games room out the back with table tennis, Pacman table top computer game and a large TV. It was only a short walking distance to the local shopping area and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this house and will stay again when in Hobart.

Loved the home layout and bonus building
Poppies home suited four adults perfectly. The house has a good layout with a large kitchen and living space that closes off from the bedrooms and bathrooms so that early risers or night owls don’t disturb any sleepers. The bonus building was perfect for morning yoga and exercises as well as a game room. Very clean and comfortable with good communication from host. We could park very safely in driveway. The only slight difficulty was backing out from driveway onto busy road. Would highly recommend this comfortable clean home in a great location. Shops, restaurants and church were all easy walks from Poppies.

Home away from home
We had a very comfortable extended stay. Property was in a great location for us. Well equipped. Our kids loved the games room - spent a lot of time out there. A perfect place for us to finish our time n Tassie.

Good property with everything you need
We enjoyed our stay, comfortable with everything we needed. Heaps of tv’s, heaters & electric blankets. Driveway is quite difficult & on a sharp bend. No basketball ring as listed. Walk to shops etc. pretty good location 10 mins out of city so was central for what we needed for our trip.

Truly a home away from home
We loved our stay at poppies house. It was a beautiful, functional home away from home. We loved everything about this house, comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms, great big kitchen and lounge. Great enclosed space outside. We would stay at Poppies house again next time we are visiting Tasmania in a heartbeat

Beautiful house with everything you want for a short stay. Spotlessly clean and great location to shopping centre. Driveway can be tricky to navigate but didn’t distract from our fabulous stay. Electric bbq wasn’t working but the outdoors and games room was an added bonus. Highly recommend

Great Place to Stay

Very nice stay
A very nice place to stay, almost everything we needed for our 5 nights as well as things we didn’t realise we needed. (Like a really good coffee machine & a heated towel rail) We appreciated the amount of storage space available in the kitchen & bedrooms. Location very good although it’s on a busy road which made access in & out of the driveway a little difficult sometimes. We didn’t use the games room due to time constraints & also the stairs from the back verandah were a bit difficult to negotiate with bad knees. But apart from that we enjoyed our stay & would recommend Poppie’s place.

Wow, where to start. If I could have given 6 stars I would have. Everything sparkling clean, spacious and modern. Location only 10 mins by car to Hobart seafront 20 mins to Kingston beach which was also lovely safe and clean. Safe back garden for a 3 year old to play outside, outbuiilding with retro games table,, space invaders and pac man took me back to the 80s. Big shops only 5 minutes walk away.Great holiday home

Wow! Poppies House was even better than the pictures show, which is rare. Immaculately clean and spacious. With two adult children we appreciated having 2 bathrooms and 3 good sized bedrooms with large cupboard space. Generous supply of towels and bathroom amenities which was appreciated. The kitchen, dining, lounge area is lovely and light, very comfortable and has everything you might need. Walking distance to lots of shops and a great base for our daily outings. I only wish we had more time to enjoy the games room. We absolutely loved this house and would definitely return. Thank you Mark and Miriam!

Poppies house is a lovely place to stay for a couple, family or friends. Spacious with a lovely games room for the children. It was clean and everything had clear instructions for use. Easy commuting distance to all everything. Beds and pillows were comfortable.

All the mod cons and just a hop and skip from Hobart
Why be cooped up in a motel when you can spread out in this fully renovated home with absolutely everything you need and more! Perfect for families, we loved our stay here and would happily come back again. 5 stars ⭐️

Good location for day trips each day. Supermarket was close for food and beverage supply. Property was lovely and clean. Had everything we needed. The street was a bit noisy for us but we do live in the country.

We love Poppies House!!
Our family absolutely loved our three nights at Poppies and were sad to leave. Hosts, Mark and Miriam have gone above and beyond with the amenities and touches provided. It was obvious that a lot of thought had gone in to providing guests with a great experience, from the coffee machine, table tennis, snacks and even leaving the lights and air conditioning on for our late arrival!! The standard of cleanliness of Poppies was to be commended. The view of Mount Wellington from the front window was lovely to get up to each morning. During our stay in Tassie at a number of properties our family loved this accommodation the most and would love to stay again!! Thank you Mark and Miriam!!

Love Poppies House
Poppies House was all we could have wanted. It is bright and airy and immaculate and has everything you need. Our grandchildren loved hanging out in the game room in the evenings. Extra little touches like the porridge packet and the Tim Tams were nice. Location was good for all we wanted to do and the supermarkets were at walking distance. Having 2 bathrooms was a great help for 5 people. We would very definitely recomment Poppies House.
