Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay - Cedar Loft

Cedar Cottages Blackmans Bay is a welcoming place to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of Southern Tasmania. Located in the gorgeous seaside village of Blackmans Bay, only 15 minutes south of Hobart city centre and close to the shopping centre of Kingston, our cottages are flexible in the range of options available.

Cedar Loft, a a self-contained studio apartment, accommodates up to 4 people.

Cedar Loft offers 1 queen and 1 futon double bed. We also provide cots and high-chairs for your little ones.

Accommodation 15 minutes to Hobart CBD.
Only a 5 minute drive to Kingborough Sport Centre KSC.

All cottages are fully furnished and self contained, including linen and we provide all of the items that you need to self cater. Both locations have BBQ's provided.

Come and stay with us and enjoy the magnificent views across the mouth of the Derwent river and out to Iron Pot, the oldest operational lighthouse in Australia. With only a 400 meter walk to Blackmans Bay Beach this is an ideal base for your relaxing holiday in Hobart.

Our aim is to provide excellent accommodation at the best possible price. Discounts may apply for multiple nights and your pets are welcome and can be securely kept in our fully fenced yard.

Blackmans Bay is a central base for exploring many great Tasmanian attractions, including The Antarctic Division Headquarters, The Huon Trail, Tahune Air Walk, Hastings Caves, World Heritage Area, Port Arthur, National Parks, MONA Museum of Old and New Art and of course all the sites of Hobart.

Travelling with our floofy boy

This location was very convenient for us to stay on a weekend away with out dog. The room was spacious and comfortable with access to a yard for our boy. Off street parking was good, our only criticism is the water pressure in the shower.

It was a bleak, rainy day when I stayed, but the bed was comfortable and I was toasty warm. Great view and wish the weather had been better so that I could have enjoyed the vista on the balcony more. Compact unit, but handy location.

Fantastic location, lovely spacious apartment, good air conditioning. Very happy with it.The only problem was that I found the keysafe very hard to open. I couldn’t open it, but luckily my sister was with me and was able to.When I checked out, I also had trouble and gave up and was about to ring the contact number, but tried again - and it worked first time. I have no idea what I did differently.

Premises excellent. On arrival no indication of which cabin was allocated to us. Arrival was abt 10pm due to airline arrival time. Had to ring proprietor to game necessary info

Clean and functional. Wonderful to be able to have my dog with me. Only downside was the studio, or loft, was cold and remained cold despite the heating being on full throughout the night and the use of an electric blanket . Perhaps better insulation would help. I would certainly return but in the summer months.

Liked the open plan layout of the unit. Bed was comfortable. Ample crockery and utensils. Good sized bathroom. Only hiccup for me was the stairs getting into the unit. But manageable😊

Convenient & Good Location

Nice room suitable for couple in the popular location of Blackman's Bay with water views (some distance but still nice). Nicely furnished with most things you would need. Only negative is the somewhat difficult parking. Not a lot of space and a difficult angle to the entry from the road. On three of the nights I was there the main Cottage had tenants and they had two cars. Extremely difficult to fit three cars in the parking area. Otherwise ideal!
