"We had a wonderful stay at this house located just off the main street in Nikko. The owner is very kind and responsive. It is a large house with three large bedrooms, a living room area, a separate full kitchen, large bathroom with washer, and lots of windows. I liked that the main living area is on the first floor (not the ground level) and the bedrooms are on the second level. The ground level is the garage. You do have to climb stairs to get in and out of the house but that wasn’t an issue...

"The room itself was very nice, and it worked well for our family of 4. Everything is new, and the space is stylishly designed, which is sometimes hard to find in smaller towns in Japan. "Nikko does not have a lot of hotel options in Expedia, but this one is perfectly fine for a small tourist town. Located directly next to JR Nikko station and downhill from Tobu-Nikko station, so easy to get to. Has its own onsen and a good breakfast Western buffet. Otherwise dine out. Rooms are somewhat small and older, but good beds. Pro tip: all the buses start at JR Nikko station, so if you get on there you are guaranteed to get a seat."
