***PLEASE NOTE: Our cabin is located in Rochford NOT Hill City—the mailing address is Hill City and VRBO lists it as Hill City but it is located in the town of Rochford, SD. Also, the address for the cabin is across the street from what is posted—again—VRBO would not list it at the correct address. I give you exact/step-by-step directions on how to get there when you book, super easy.

This is a “cabin” but also a nice, clean, comfortable two bedroom one bath home that sits on a large grassy property with a creek flowing by it.

Our cabin is nestled in the heart of the central Black Hills 1/2 block from the popular Moonshine Gulch Saloon and right on the Mickelson Trail and Rapid Creek.

Our cabin offers the quiet serene beauty of the Black Hills with some of the most incredible rides imaginable just outside the back door.

Located in Rochford SD just 22 miles from Deadwood and 35 miles to Sturgis. Paved roads the entire way from Hwy 14 Lead/Deadwood area. If coming from Hwy 385 you can take the 11 mile gravel road to get to Rochford.

Ideally accommodates 2 couples, but can sleep a family of 6 comfortably. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other bedroom has a queen bed and a bunk bed (2 twin beds). It has 1 bathroom with tub/shower.

It is fully furnished with a washer/dryer, towels, linens kitchen utensils, coffee maker, blender, crock pot etc., it has a window air conditioner (when necessary—but barely needed), wood fireplace, gas Weber BBQ grill, and a garage for motorcycle, car, or ATV parking. Large deck off the back of the entire cabin which faces the creek. There is also an outdoor fire table with seating.

We have Wifi at the cabin and you can use your smart phone with the TV that has Roku. There are board games, playing cards, a 50" TV/DVD player and we have some movies for evening entertainment. There are also outdoor games —corn hole and croquet!

Everyone who has stayed had commented about taking one day just to enjoy relaxing at the cabin, playing in the creek, finding new trails and just walking around the small town—so keep that in mind when booking!

You must notify owner if you are bringing a dog. We only allow 1 dog. Guests agree to follow our Pet Policy (you can find a copy in the Rules and Policies section, it can also be sent upon request and we send it upon booking, it is also at the cabin when you check in) Gusts also MUST clean up after your dog by vacuuming and sweeping ALL hair in the cabin and also cleaning ALL feces around the entire cabin property prior to leaving. Failure to follow the Pet Policy results in forfeiture of the deposit and and, if needed, an additional cleaning charge. Our cleaners take photos of all infractions and charge us for the additional cleaning, we then charge our guests for that additional cleaning.

Great place to relax & unwind. We really enjoyed sittng in the swing and watching the creek. Beautiful scenery all around. We had a couple of good meals & some beers at the Old Saloon. Hope to come back again.

Rochford Get Away

Wonderful stay over Thanksgiving! We had extended family in the area and needed a separate place to stay with my Mom and our dog and this was perfect! Warm, clean, comfortable- we enjoyed our time here immensely

Perfect spot to spend a week in the Black Hills! Very clean, Wi-Fi (helped with lack of phone service) and comfortable cabin. Rental had everything we could ask for and more. Loads of space to park our 20 foot trailer (transported our 2 Can-Ams) for the week. Our first VRBO experience and I’m afraid we are spoiled by this stay!! Rochford had a great ice cream/general store and Moonshine Gulch Bar had fantastic burgers…within an easy walking distance. Also perfect for our 5 year old doodle. Loads of space to sniff around! Would return anytime!

Great place in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin had everything we needed and then some. It was awesome to see so many deer in the backyard. The fireplace was an added bonus.

Family vacation

This cabin was just what we needed. It was a great place to stay and a great little piece of peace and quite. We all enjoyed our time being out in the hills away from the hussle and bussle of everday life. Perfect for those looking for a get away and enjoying nature, loved seeing thr wildlife and the creek.

Great cabin!

Such a great cabin! Very peaceful with the trout stream right in the back yard. The location was perfect for riding our UTV right from the driveway to the trails. Moonshine Gulch Saloon and the Rochford Mall were fun, too! Would definitely stay here again!

The location to the Michelson trail is extremely close( we came to bike). The backyard is large and has a view of the trail. Our dog enjoyed playing ball in the back yard and taking long walks down the country roads nearby. The house is also situated on a creek and has a swing located on the back of the property to view the creek. The town of Rochford ( where the house is situated) is extremely quaint and charming. There is a book in the house called "The History of Rochford" which I ended up reading every night. The town gives you the feeling of living in the Gold Rush Days. Right across the street is the original school house & up the street is the small cute church plus the original saloon!

Little slice of heaven

Our stay was great!! Cute little cabin with everything we needed, beautiful stream. We utilized the grill and fire table. It is a bit of a jaunt to get to some of the tourist attractions. We plan on staying again and just spending time at the cabin.

Brief Get-away

Good meeting location for Colorado and Minnesota family. Some enjoyed bike trail, and some enjoyed the more lively scene in Deadwood. We all enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful place to visit.

Lovely little cabin in nature :)

Beautiful little place off the beaten path. House is cozy and nature is all around to enjoy. Bring bikes as there are amazing bike paths all around. The creek is fun and we enjoyed our stay. House is well appointed and kept up. Be prepared to drive a bit when you are there, but it’s a beautiful place to be!

Cute cabin in Rochford

Great cabin. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and a creek. We so enjoyed spending time on the deck and just soaking up the sun and the changing of the leaves to fall. Cabin was extremely clean and decorated so cute. Rochford is a nice little town, and we would love to visit again.

A perfect escape

This was the perfect home base for exploring and an amazing place to spend thanksgiving. The fireplace was cozy on the cold days and the cabin had everything you could possibly need. The kids loved the games and bunk beds. We saw deer daily in the yard. A must go for some much needed peace.

Ssshhhh…don’t tell anyone!

We loved this place! Even better than expected. We love to fly fish and enjoy the outdoors and we had the best of both worlds here. We were supplied with everything we needed, my only regret was not being able to stay longer. We dream of living in the area and we’re so thankful and blessed to have found this wonderful place! Great Black Hills retreat!

Lovely cabin, great owner, beautiful area. We had a fabulous time walking the Mickelson Trail, playing games, watching old movies, talking, making meals together, and just hanging out. In the past, we've stayed closer to Hill City or Keystone, but this summer, we decided to a bit further out. My son had a wonderful time fishing, and we just enjoyed time together. Oh, and if you're on Verizon, you may get 2 bars when you're sitting on the swing next to the creek! I highly recommend this property.

Absolutely wonderful

We had a wonderful time. Played games by the fire in the cozy living room, watched a movie together in there. Having coffee on the back deck in the morning on the cushion lounge chairs and watching the deer and birds was the absolute best. The place is obviously very well taken care of and it had everything we needed for a nice family get away! Communication with the property manager was easy and always got a quick response. Also, being able to just walk down to the adorable little town and great restaurant and store was so great to do with the family.
